I am trying to decide if I want master musician in my template. Can you guys buff yourself?

Nope, sure can't!
But on the other hand it's tons of fun, when you're not dealing with all the problems

Hehe, I'm a TKM now and was looking for an rp'ing profession that wasn't to bad at combat, played around and I can be a tkm/master musician/novice scout/medic 3300. Maybe I'll get master ranger.......or still go with musician, lol

No we can't - because you see, you get a small amount of heal xp every time you buff someone. Now according to Thunderheart, if Masters (who by definition don't need any xp anymore) were able to get 60 heal xp every 2 hours by buffing themselves, this would completely unbalance the game, make it unplayable for everyone, stop the Combat and GCW revamp intheir tracks, and end all sentient life on this planet for the next 173.4 million years. Plus, it would make us happy.
And that's why musicians and dancers can't buff themselves!

Eh, that hurts. Right now all I need is some stims and a music buff and I can solo faction missions, unarmored. Well, guess it would be to much to ask to be almost completely self sufficient and have some fun rp'ing

If you want to play music for RP purposes and aren't too interested in healing or buffing (especially since you can't buff yourself), you could learn only 0040 musician, which gives you all songs except for virtuoso (master musicican) and ceremonial (master entertainer) but doesn't include faster mind/bf healing, buffs and special effects.

It's not I want music for RP'ing, its that I am looking for a good rp temp and music would've been one of the top ones if I could buff myself (could come up with some real interesting stories why I play instruments AND kick butts).

True, you can't buff yourself. It's something many of us have been asking for a long time. And, I hold out hope that it will happen eventually. But, if you want an advantage, there is the whole healing thing. I'm a TKM/Master Dancer, and I am completely self sufficient when it comes to healing up after battle. The TKM, of course, heals all wounds and diseases. And, the entertainer heals the battle fatigue. I've found being able to heal myself completely at any time to be advantageous at times.
And, on the plus side beyond that, playing songs is just really fun!

What these guys all said. No self-buff, though we're not sure we understand why. Nor are we sure that this is the answer for all time.

This is like a slap in the face for you guys and gals. Doctors can buff themselves, aren't musicians just like Doctors who buff mind? That's sad, and I have new found respect for every person who goes Musician or Dancer because they want to, not as a second character to mind buff their main. Now, my respect was pretty high before, so the next time I see a non-afk buffing musician, I will tip him/her 20k out of my pity for them
