sorry about above. I tried the new quest and failed. There was a bout a two second delay from the time i "conversed" to when they actually said something, this made it very hard with the time constraints. I was only able talk to about half the audience
..... well thast it from me......24 hours to go till i can get back

You can do /conv from onstage, you dont have to run up to each of them...
That being said, I failed the 2nd gig mission too... *sobs heartbrokenly*

It isn't necessary but one thing that helps and can be a lot of fun is to get some of your friends to go with you. The audience will talk to anyone - you stand on stage and your friends will converse with the audience and tell you what to do and what not to do. I did this for another player on TC2 and it was fun for me to race the timer and run around and talk to everyone - especially since it wasn't my quest that was on the line.

I didn't think about the /conv thing, thanks for that
, I thought about getting some friends' help but my only friend around was Chunga Jr., my musical playback droid
Thank you very much for your help

So, does anyone have a theory on what's the best way to do these? Should you just keep spamming the preferred flourish, or is it better to have some variety and throw in others too (apart from the one they don't want to hear)?? And what about special effects? I'm doing those on the assumption that they can't hurt
I did different flourishes at the first gig mission (with the preferred one just being the most common, maybe every second one on average), and passed that easilywith the audience being at <Very Satisfied>.
On the second gig however, I just kept spamming the preferred flourish, and while I had them to <Neutral> over a minute before the end, that's where they stayed... So maybe you can have too much of a good thing (= flourish)?

You should do variety of flos and songs WITH....
Emphasis on the flos and songs they like.
NONE of the flos or songs they hate.
I never did and fx on TC and I passed them easily.
One thing i did do is that I set up mini-macros so I had one toolbar with 8 flos, /conv, and on the bottom......
/change rock, /change starwars2, /change folk, /change starwars3, /change ballad, /change waltz, /change jazz, /change virtuoso, /change ceremonial
It made it much easier to run flos and do the /changes

Yep, I also managed to win the quests on TC without doing any effects. I just conversed as much as I could; there were three or four common requests, so I tried to emphsize those but also do every other flourish in a requested tune. I had fun with it.
I'm having trouble logging into SWG to try it Live now, though. Kinda stuck at the launchpad, which is a first. Um, this is the "new and improved launchpad," right? <worried look>

Phew! I managed to fail the first gig! I am so glad but it was so close to letting me pass. I got all the way up to neutral!
If they had actually asked for two flourishes instead of one flourish and a song I may have succeeded.
Why you may ask am I glad I failed, well I was doing the musician quest - but I was DANCING in the gig = and almost passed!
I thought that bug would slip through into live, I only spotted it fairly late and then TC went down and was unable to finish testing. Oh well.
Just wait till you hear the new song. Class, pure class.
Ailar - make sure you find someone to duet it with - I was dueting on TC with a QA. Great sound mixing a horn with the mando.

NJ - reset the launchpad LOTS - I went through closing and opening it about 20 times to get it working.

I got distracted when he first asked me to audition, the thirty seconds expired before I even started playing, and now I can't do the quests for 24 hours

SEMI SPOILER.....
It seems that performance 1 they tell you one song they like and one flo they like. Performance 2 is one song they like, one they hate....one flo they like and one flo they hate. Performance 3 is 2 songs and flos they like...one song and flo they hate.
Never play the ones they hate. Play everything else, but just play more of what they like.
I had "satisfied" with over a minute to go in my 2nd performance, and had "very satisfied" in my final with 45 seconds to go.
They really are too easy. It was more fun when the audience didn't spawn and you had to guess.
