Thread: Mind Enhancement Clothing Attachments

I'm in the market for Mind Enhancement Attachments but I'm finding I am being totally priced out of the market by players who are either rich crafters, or Combat types with loads of credits buying for their alts. While I am not poor, I certainly don't have the money to pay for the ridiculous sums of money these are going for. I appreciate that they are rare and in demand, but when I see an auction starting at 500k for a +3 attachment I just get depressed and sigh. At that price it is already out of my league before the auction even begins. I've started saving for these and have set up a vendor selling smuggler goods on my alt (not that these sell well due to chef foods, but thats another rant) but it will be a long time before I will ever be able to get the millions of credits needed to win these auctions. I dread to think how much it will cost me to get the +25 max I can use which is limited even further by the fact I am a wookiee and therefore restricted in the amount of clothing I can wear, so therefore need Attachments that give high bonuses. Also as a casual gamer I am never going to find the time to grind missions to get the cash either.

Is it just me that thinks these things are overpriced? I am resigned to hoping I loot them with my alt, but seeing how rare they are I just can't see it happening. There is nothing I would like more than to be able to provide a 125% buff to my regulars.

Sorry, just had to get this off my chest. I don't begrudge the people who win the auctions, its just frustrating not having the cash to even compete. It's times like this that I wish I was a rich buffbot, but I will never go down that route no matter how frustrated I am.

The root of the problem isn't an entertainers lack of credits. It is the god mode buffs that make running janta missions every 5 minutes possible. There is too much easy cash in this game, its borked so much. My lady tried to sell some really good crafting aprons for 20k, she never got a nibble while people were bidding up a similar apron that started at 200k. People see reasonable prices and think something is wrong with an item. Needless to say she has raised the price considerably and is starting to get inquiries. A chef friend went from scraping by with help to making more from one run of foods than I've made in 6 months in game, after he mastered the skill, again thanks to the over the top mission incomes.

The credit dupe would not have hurt this game at all. I'm glad they uncovered it and squashed cheaters but the over the top, uber, can't die PvE in this game is destroying any pretense of an economy. Missions priced to pay an entire group are collected by one TKM in5 minutes or less. Players literally destroy the nest and ignore theMOBs attacking them to increase their efficiency. A lone combat character can make upwards of 300k and more an hour. It is absurd and driving the prices off the charts.

So all that to say that no you can't compete unless you are willing to get the FOTM and run lots of solo group missions.

That is only half the problem in reality. The rest has to do with the drop tables for tapes, and the frequency and availablilty of them. They have always been bad, but ever since the POI caves that they dropped in the most got broken (1 spawn per 24hr) they have gotten even more expensive.

Rarity will always drive prices up. However if it wasn't possible for some professions to make millions in credits during a single day even the rarest items would have prices closer to reality. The reality is that entertainers probably make credits at a rate closer to what the developers initially invisioned and if that is true then ubese armor should cost around 20k not 120k+.

Less than a minute per mission, with full buffs and armor. Combine the 'uber' buffs, 'uber' armor, and very effective weapons, with an area attack. As Vader will say, "All too easy".

The only reason I got to +25 was that I have wonderful friends and guildmates who love me, love my buffs and healing skills, and are willing to humour me.

Probably the two best places to go to try and loot dropped clothing that might (if you're screamingly lucky) have musical mind enhancement properties are the Aa'kuan caves on Talus (nearest starport: Nashal) or Fort Tusken. I've seen CAs drop in Ft. Tusken of up to +7, personally. The mods on them are random, so MME is a possibility. Also, if your avatar is male, you can wear Tusken Raider clothing, which I see with MME often enough that it depresses me (since I'm female and can't wear it).[edit: doh, just noticed you're a Wookiee. At least you could wear a bandolier....]

The combat orientated lot I think would rather give tapes to AFK-buff-bots than live performers. Horror of horrors they might have to communicate with the live performers and "ask" for a buff - they are so shy it's better for them to cuddle their little robots.

I've afew dance buff customers who've become good friends over time. The moment they heard I was going musician two of themstarted looking for CAs for me. I'm up to +20 now & I'm really looking forward to making all their effort worth it for them when I hit master (hopefully later this week..as usual..it is taking me months to do it). On the server where my avatar is master dancer, master entertainer and soon-to-be master musician, I'm not a member of a guild and have no combat skills. It feels really awesome to have such supportive friends!

WOW Esh.

Congrats on hitting +20. I've been in the tape market since my good friend Skawa gave me my first as an Xmas gift last year. I'm still only at +23 myself.
