Thread: Loot for Musicians

I have a couple of items that I have looted that are specific to musicians (all looted from Tuskens - who woulda thought they were so cultured), but I don't know if the modifiers are useful and was hoping you guys could help me out.

Tusken Robe with Musical Mind Enhancement 3...I assume this helps with buffs, but does the mod work (what does it do?)

CA with Musical Instrument Assembly 4...Does that mod actually do anything? I noticed that your FAQ says that experimenting on instruments is not necessary as there is no noticable affect on instrument longevity or mod help when using an experimentally enhanced instrument.

CA with Battle Fatigue Healing (Music) 9...I know BE clothing can increase wound healing ability, but is that different from battle fatigue healing or is the mod effect redundant?

Thank you for any help you guys can offer. I'm not a musician, so I wanted to find out if they work before I tried to sell them.

The mind enhance robe would be worth something (not as much as you think due to sex/clothing slot limitations) and the BF CA would be worth something (BE mods dont improve BF healing iirc). I can't give you numbers, sinceI never shop for these things.

The Mind Enhancement robe with the +3 MME will add 3% onto the music buff, so a Master Musician wearing it could add 103% onto someone's secondary mind stats instead of the 100% we currently do. It's probably the most valuable piece you're selling. Some people will pay a great deal for anything that increases the buffs, even if it's just a small percentage like 3%.

The BF CA is worth something, yes, but Bio Engineered clothing can have up to +25 BF/Mind Wound healing, so that devalues it a tad.

So far as we can tell, instrument qualitydoes nothing for us. Right now that CA is probably only worthwhile as a conversation piece in a cantina. Out of sheer optimism, I'd probably hold on to it, hoping that some day the Devs would make crafting matter for instruments...but it took them a year and 4 months to (badly) institute a new song, so the chances of that happening are small. Still, it's up to you.

Myoflex and Enhanced Myoflex, the tissue Bio-Engineers make that has modifiers relevant to Entertainers, is for Wound Healing (Music) and Wound Healing (Dance) only. If the Enhanced Myoflex is made with good enough ingredients, you can get single items of clothing with the max allowable bonus of +25 in the one item of clothing (and if you're really lucky, 4 sockets), which is why CAs of those two mods are totally worthless. Battle Fatigue Healing (Music) and Battle Fatigue Healing (Dance) are available only from clothing attachments.

Me...I love buying high number fatigue healing CAs. But I'm a little odd. On Starsider, I'd be willing to shell out up to about 200k for that +9 Music BF healing tape, but I've got a combat prof so I can go grind credits for an hour and get that. And buffbots whose owners aren't morons get things like that so they're more valuable.

Musical Mind Enhancement clothing goes for about 100K per point on Starsider in a tape. Drop that a bit for it being in an item of clothing already, that it's loot-dropped so there's no sockets to put other tapes in, and then a bit more for it being male-only wearable (female avatars can't equip Tusken clothing).

The Instrument Assembly is only for the truly crazy. Hell...put it on the Bazzar for 6k. Someone'll buy it. But experimenting on instruments accomplishes nothing, because instrument quality means nothing. As a point of interest: each +10 of Instrument Assembly gives you another experimentation point while making instruments, and if it works as other assembly mods do, it also increases your chances of a successful check while making instruments.I'm most likely one of the few nutsos to actually own a suit of +25 Instrument Assembly clothing.

Ow! Tarot!

Hmm.... Thanks for correcting me there. I have apiece of clothingwith +25 wound & BF healing, andit's named to reflect that, but come to think of itthere areno sockets, so I guess someone must have had the CA's before crafting it & then put the attachments in before selling. I was confused. Sorry for the misleading info!

Hmmm... there's something that doesn't add up in this quote, I just can't pinpoint what it is...

Didn't say they weren't too lazy to go find a real performer (which is all it really is when people use a buffbot or have one for their own/guild/city's use), just that they're at least bright enough to realize that it's helpful to have the tapes when their main comes in with maxxed out fatigue.
