Thread: I got tired of waiting.

Once again I'm writing to say that I'm taking a few months off from SWG. As usual, it's been a few more months spent waiting for developers to do something to help entertainers, and once again very little has been done. I'm giving SWG one more chance. I'm coming back in December to see if the game is any better. After that, I'm cutting my losses for good and finding a better way to waste $15 per month.

Maybe save it all up and become a real life entertainer?

I'll get all ticked off at the people in the game and the musician profession but then i'll have a good jam session with friends or get a lot of dancer girls hitting on me and i'm good for another month. hehe

Beery, I hope you reconsider. We're about to get our first new song, mirabile dictu, as part of the new entertainer quests. AFK'ing is down, and the devs have announced theirintention to remove recursive macros altogether. There's been a surge of entertainer-oriented events over the past couple months, with Bria's Cantina Crawl series leading the way. And I *think* more new songs are still planned in conjunction with the Hutt Casino, though I admit that's months away.

And it's still just plain fun to hang out and jam with other Musicians and socialize with the Dancers. At least, I think it is.

I know how you feel. I have posted before that I took 9 months on SWG off and on, only coming back after new developments with our profession. 2-3 months off and bout 2 weeks playing before I wiould grow bored.

Until that is, I figured I should try what else SWG has to offer that supports our class...as a basis.Meaning try out DE, Tailor, Dancer, even ID, and best of all in my opinion, merchant. My music shop was a great success, and I had a lot of fun with it, but I finally hung up my keys to the shop for a greater purpose, politician. I found myself in teh position to be the new mayor for my guild's brand new city, in that it would be our only city, as the guild gave up on the last attempt. Wonderful fun, and it gets me out of the cantina long enough to fully enjoy the game. Granted I still spend the majority of my time in the cantina. Wish you best of luck when you do come back the game offers enough appeal for you to stay =).

I'm sorry to see you go, Beery. As NJ pointed out, things are beginning a slow turnaround.

However, I have to agree with you. Don't play if you're not having fun. That'll just make you resent the game itself. I'd much rather you come back after a break, refreshed and ready to have fun again.

If things aren't better in December... Well... then I'll try talking you into reconsidering.

May the Force be with you and your Performances.

Well, the new song is on Test Center, and it's great. I guess Beery could take a break now and have at least that one thing to look forward to when she gets back. If she waits long enough, there should be other new songs as well.

Popped back in for a few minutes. Thanks for the replies. I saved up enough in-gameto pay rent on my house for 6 more months, and on my factory 'til Christmas. I'm tempted to come back in to learn that new song, but I'll probably wait until JTL is out next week (assuming it does come out next week). After Christmas I'm supposed to get a Sorosuub 3000, so that's really when I'm intending to get back into the game full time. So far so good. Nothing has disappeared on me like it did last time, so I'm all set. Also, a few weeks away does wonders to lift the spirits.
