Thread: so a year on, what has changed?

A year (or so, give or take) ago I started out on Farstar and became a musician, placing a cantina in, whar is now the oldest, city on Farstar. I held onto my music for quite some time, but after a few months, headed out into the wild and took to combat.

So now Ive been there and done that, slaughtered everything the galaxy has to offer and then some, nothing left, so I cancelled (will expire in Jan). JTL is a shootem up (and there are far better ones) and so far hsa not tempted me, despite/because I played beta. So here I am TKA/Rifles, very rich, most of my friends gone, guild leaking away to EQ2 and my own sigts set somewhere between EQ2 and The Matrix. The I bump into an old friend and for fun decide to dump TKA and re-master music.

So here I am working my way through it and wondering if anything much has changed. I hear there is ONE new song from a quest and there are now entertainer droids (or FPS killers ) - btw anyone know if they can do light effects and playback at the same time? - so is there anything else thats changed?

Have to say Im having fun playing again anyway ....

The new song is quite cool, but it does take a fair amount of Music XP (400K) to get it.

It is possible to do effects and playback at the same time.

I started in March, and about the only thing that's changed that really impacted my gameplay was that Dancer and Musician buffs can't be applied at the same time (doubling the time it takes Combat people to get buffed in a cantina).

Also, some players prefer buffbots to real Entertainers, as you both provide the exact same benefit, but buffbots never use the toilet, eat, sleep, or go to work. And, with the removal of the daily server restart, now those buffbots can be left to do their thing for weeks/months at a time, raking in the credits and providing a level of service no human could.

So, that's about it.

*sigh*

Oh, and the new song - it's very country oriented, but it's at least something new and different. I've had many people stop listening to me at starports while I played my Mandoviol, saying, "I don't like country music."

I am always happy to see other people annoyed by this -- it makes me feel like I am not just being grumpy.

Ok, so I dropped Chef. I just didn't like it. Leave me alone!

One more reason to play Western on the Chidinkalu horn

Yso'met - certified entertainer quest helper (Starsider)
Cinod Agewiv - cantina crawler (Bria)
iMaul - Sith Lord for the rest of us (Eclipse, name nicked from here)

-I support ATK people and playstyles.

Got that right

I'm really fond of the Chidinkalu/Ommni Box/Slitherhorn combo, actually. And a little Nalargon adds just the right touch

Not enough has changed, that's for sure. By my lights, the biggest development over the last year has been the arrival of our song, followed by the droids. But we keep seeing the same things on our holiday wish-list: new songs and instruments, the return of ATK entertaining, better missions and mission payouts, more content, /register, the Hutt Casino, and (if you're listening, Santa) did I mention new songs and instruments?

Regardless of everything I said, though - this is the most important thing. Without a shadow of a doubt.
