Thread: /register is now fixed and Live

Anyone care to verify it's working properly on Live? Specifically in player cantinas and other places where it wasn't functioning right, before the Publish?
Don't forget to inform the public about the system. And, don't be afraid to head out into a player city's cantina and do a /register, so that folks will know that a Master Dancer or Musician is in there. Maybe some strategic and non-annoying cantina spam would inform folks of the system?

I tested it in a player cantina as well as theed cantina. Updates to the map corectly!

Yay!!! This is great news if the rest of the player base knows how to use this.

I'll give it a go tonight.
Alert the media: our top-five list actually had some influence! The devs saw /register on our list and promptly asked me and others for details. I've been quite pleased with their responsiveness on this one -- althoughobviously it shoulda been fixed a long time ago.

Personally I don't see the big joy over this fix. Even working correctly, people are not going to take a chance on cantinas where they do not know that there is a Buffbot there. Also, I think that that is pathetic. Great, so now register works for any Novice Musician or Dancer. Its also touted as "to find BF healing". We've discussed that BF is not the primary reason people seek out ents.
I guess I should be happy we got some love.

The /setp message is fixed as well. These are huge in my opinion. Not mechanically or game wise but if you look at the fact that in the past month+ we have gotten some new content and several bug fixes it means that SOE did decide to keep us. We all know that they stated they considered eleminating some professions; well they said they decided to keep them all which means they considered it. The renewed commitment to entertainer just shows me they were serious and are trying to hit the low hanging fruit first before going after any tougher issues.

I guess I see it as an important fix not so much for now as for when AFK'ing goes bye-bye. At that point, /register will in theory point to live entertainers. That said, I think /register should be complemented by a far more robust search function, one that covers more than one's current region or planet.

I agree - even if just exclusively for Entertainers. People have a problem finding us (so they say), so we need to make it "1st grade level easy" to find us.
And, the stupid bots in this game need to GO. Like, 6 months ago. That was the main focus of my post in that "there are new Devs coming" thread. Bots do nothing for this game but destroy player to player interaction. They tell new players the best way to play this game is to NOT play this game, and force the game to play itself, and get easy money/loot/xp/whatever.
