I've had the same problem.I noticed it happens alot in high lag areas (cnet cantina) just run back outside and go back in. they should find the floor.

Some days, those goofy droids are just too shy to show up in public... so they go hide in the basement

Note that you have better chance to succeed making the droid enter correctly in the cantina by going trough the back door (very usefull in coronet for example), fewer people, less lag. (Your droid will be much more courrageous if he thinks no one is inside!)

my two silly cents

I had this problem alot in Coronet on Scylla. I finallyfigured outthat if I went outside the back door and pulled the droid, then it worked ok. Also if you use the front door (or ina player cantina)and then walk only a few steps in and pause, then take just a step at a time, pause and let the droid catch up, then another step, etc.,they don't sink either... but thats kind of a pain.

I haven't had this happen to me, but I'm glad to hear there's a workaround. Does it work for everyone?

I most often use the back door trick......

It appears that if the droid enters the cantina while rolling behind you and not from "popping" into the cantina to catch up to you, that it is just below the floor of the foyers, and once inside, goes completely invisible.

Moving into the foyer and then waiting for the droid to enter before moving to the next room usually works. It appears to be a level issue from what I've seen. If you run in and straight to the back room you are on different levels and the droid gets confused entering the building and falls through. It might also be an issue with moving between rooms, just like when you occassionally run out of a room to open sky instead of to the next room (had this happen in tyrena starport the other night). Staying no more than one room apart (outside to foyer) seems to reduce the problem.

I confirm lekkuboobie's advices

To be more specific, it mostly happends to me when de droid enters -after- the door closed (when there is a door that is...)
Maybe another thing that can help is to tell the droid to get in formation (by default "/tellpet wedge formation" or "/tellpet column formation"), I noticed that pets usualy follow you with less reaction time when in formation.
