I think to get more people to gamble they have to make the games a little more involved. If you have ever played one you will know the games are rather, um,boring. You select the option on a radial dial, and get a system message saying you got this or that. (same goes with fishing. soooo boring hitting up/down/left/right and maybe or maybe not catching a fish)

Yeah a few more interactive games would be nice. btw for fishing I don't know if you have read any of the guides but they really helped me out. I pretty much always get a fish now.

I've always thought that the gambling games should have jackpots that involved some really good loot... It would have to be stuff good enough for people to not mind the money sink of losing all that money in trying to get it.

Loot jackpots would be awesome. I think that would be the perfect way to draw audiences to entertainers, rather than us being a required downtime. When I moved all the entertainers from the Theed cantina to the hotel a month or so ago, people coming in got all excited about the possibility of gambling.. they then found the games pretty stupid, but with loot involved, and hopefully the games made more fun, I could totally see people hanging out, listening to some tunes, flirting with the dancers, and trying to get some mad loot.

hehe that would be a huge money waster. From my limited testing of the games aka trying to find a way to make money off them.. I was unable to find any sort of pattern that would allow me to make money on it. But with Loot people wouldn't mind losing money. And I'm not saying that like 1cr bet would get you a crystal or some uber starship part. The loot would scale with how much your betting. I mean sure there would have to be a really small chance that your a newbie and you run up bet 1cr and get a loot a Legendary Lightsaber or something( Mace Windu's LS anyone ?) lol Or a limited use schematics for various odds and ends.

I'd also like to see a game which builds up a higher jackpot as more people lose money to it. Like maybe 50% of the bet goes to the casino, 50% goes into the jackpot. The player who wins gets the built up jackpot .

Hopefully we'll see a more detailed, exciting, and rewarding gambling system with the Hutt Casino. I can see this as an opportunity for the Devs to take lessons from RL casinos, with just enough promise of mad winnings to lure people in and have them sink their creds.

Gambling/THC is a perfect sink for all those creds people are hoarding now with the end of solo groups in sight.

I think that this would be great! The first time I tried to do an ent mission, I thought that there would be an npc that I was supposed to perform for and spent half an hour running around the cantina looking for them.

Heheh I expected the NPC to show up if I played on the exact spot where the mission waypoint was...I played for a good half hour before I decided to go inside and see what happened if I played in there.

Every NPC has a certain amount of "fatigue" (not battle fatigue, and we wouldn't get healing xps for it). If we performed near them, the game would make its normal check for them to hear/see us. Once they were listening, we would perform until their fatigue was gone, and the game would make a check on the loot table for them to tip us (small amounts of creds, or some items we could use (see below) e.g. "I don't have any cash to spare Peasleblossom, but please take this..."). The chance for better items could be improved by the number of NPC listeners we get at the same time (total fatigue * X) This couldalso be improved by the size of the performance troupe. The fatigue concept would work similarly to creature MOBs and Milk. They have a certain amount, and once its taken its gone, until the NPC despawns and a new one appears. Also a perfect opportunity to improve our mission terms, by sending us to locale X to entertain NPCs

I did this too...

I thoroughly read each and every mission description, under the assumption at the time that the missions would be immersive experiences. And my first entertainer mission said to go to the hotel atlocation X (the waypoint) and talk to NPC X,the manager (I don't recall the name, but he was named) who was behind the counter.

Well, the manager must've been on break or something, because he wasn't where he was supposed to be. I looked around for him for at least a half an hour, and finally just decided that if I was here to do a job, I'd better do it... and I'd work out the contract details later with the manager. Made for the stage and started dancing, and sure enough, 10 minutes later or so got the system message that I'd completed the mission.

I remember thinking that it seemed to be a real missed opportunity for an immersive experience. Course, I also had some notion that if I did a good show for that manager, just as several of those missions stated at the time, eventually 'people' would start to hear about it, and I'd be getting better and better gigs. Maybe one day... maybe one day...
