Well Rick..you gave me a little warning that this was in the works & I figured with that, and knowing you'll still be around, this would be easy..piece of cake. Then Odo had to go & make me get all whiny. Now there are just some things I have to say.
"Never has anyone roleplayed a drunk for so long."
I remember first seeing you (7/03?) at one of the parties in Claira's house outside of AH & laughing so hard I couldn't dance. Eventually, I came to know you, as a fellow player, musician, mayor and most importantly, friend. You've tolerated me making fun of you & dressing you in color coordinated clothes. You'velet me drag youto parties & when the scheduled band didn't appear, you were first to whip out your nalargon & wave it around. You've patiently listened to my endless rants and incessant whining. You are a good friend, Ricky.
You have stood up for the right of the players of the performance professions to maintain their playstyle in ways many on this forum will never know about. When the bots on Chilastra organized and began harassing the performers, you were there man..you were there. When they persistentlyspammed the Entertainers of Chilastra chat channel with anti-ATK rhetoric, you were filing reports faster than I was. Your involvement gave me the strength to keep going through those long weeks of hellwhen all I wanted to do wasrun. You took up our issues on a personal level and then you took them to where it would make a difference. The changes are coming and we have you to thank for them.
There is one upcoming wedding on Chilastra that I hope you won't be playing at until the reception. Someone has to give away the bride.

Thank you for all you hard work. Will be strange at first for you I am certain, but after the shakes fade,I am happy to hear you will still be around.

Thanks, NJ. The profession boards are to some extent a reflection of the correspondent, so I think credit goes to you for the constructive and civilised tone we generally have around here. The new correspondent will have some awfully big boots to fill.

Well this is a sad, yet happy day.
once more you have donned the title of just a player, and can spend more time enjoying the game for what you can.
You will be missed as corespondant, as your posts were always positive, even if the subject you were relaying to us was very negative. You, along with the former dancer and entertainer correspondants, kept this community alive during a period of time that many felt like quitting.
I really feel had there been a less optimistic, less positive correspondant we would have a very different forum, and many less members.
Though we may have had a different view on an issue or two, I have always respected you due to the way you stated your thoughts. Nothing you said was ever confrontational, nothing you said was ever pessimistic. Though you may have heard it time and time again (or not) the way you have presented things in this forum, and lead the musician community, has had a very positive effect on it.
Looks like I will have to make a character on chilastra to buy you a drink, ricky, because you definately deserve one.
Here is to NewJedi. Though he may be riding off into the sunset, we will always remember the great job he has done. May he remember to visit this forum and let us know how his retirement is going.
have a good retirement NJ, for when the great Musician uprising of 2005 comes you will be called up to help wack things with your slitherhorn

In fact, they give us Blue Glowies access to the Correspondent forum and maybe the CU stuff, so I'll still be snooping around, nalargon in hand. (How do we carry those things around, anyway?)
And yes, Ricky is very much looking forward to giving away the bride at a certain wedding, Esh.
