Imbroglio, I agree, it's a neat idea. I love the idea of the backup musician. I mean, that's just inspired. And I can't help think it's pretty feasible from a coding standpoint, but what do I know. And of course I love the idea of getting some new songs. The devs are working on new songs, but they're going to take a while, so there's time to think about how they should fit into our profession.

One concern I have is skill points: we've got few enough as it is! I wonder if some of this could be subsumed in the Master Entertainer skill tree.

Anyway, I'll be certain to bring this to the attention of the devs. I may just copy and paste the original post into the Correspondent forum, if the original poster doesn't object. (Links don't ever seem to work for me.)

Yes, we have far too little skill points, I still have a long way too go but I allready have to decide which I will not do since with 250 skillpoints you cannot be a allround entertainer as I was hoping to do, I have about 92 skillpoints left and still plenty of boxes to learn...

Fantastic post... I just started taking up musician today... I can picture:

+ Concert organizing

+ Ticketmaster(TM) profiteering (heh musicians can charge ticket prices )

+ Stadium construction? (Architect)

+ Concert bowl construction? (Architect)

Just few thoughts.

I like the profession so far it's a welcomed change from constant hunting.

I really like the idea of the NPC bandmembers and envision them working like pets of sorts. You call and store them and can assign songs and instruments etc...

You could also have them created with the excess music xp that we all have, much like using faction points... so that there is a cost associated with them.

Having the chance to fill outa band when other players aren't availablewould make it much more fun for me and I think for the guests as well. Not sure how they would flourish etc.. but think it could be done well. An excellent Idea.

Some outstanding ideas in here. I too would prefer to see these incorperated into the existing professions rather than a new class. That would leave the healing rates and buffing as is. The suggested abilities like backup npc and a visible marquee would breathe much needed life into the profession. And it could be copied and pasted over to dancer as well, two birds one stone.
