I read your post and also tried more experimentation on instruments last night. I couldn't hear any difference between my 66% quality nalargon and a 10% quality version. Same with the mandoviol and traz. Then again, I'm using headphones on a laptop (on vacation for a few more days), so maybe I can't hear well enough. Will try again when I get home.

actually, a good set of headphones can really bring out the sound betterthan an average or above average speaker set.

I wish this were true but I too experimented and it didn't seem to make a difference. However it would be nice if this was implemented if not the tone of music at least a better healing ability if good resources were used to make instruments similiar to mods on clothing ..maybe we can ask the Dervs!

Maybe because they paid such close attention to instrument sounds they didn't have time to make the horns sound different? Did you think of it that way?

You know, if i was a dev, i would of made the instrument quality effect the HAM flourish cost..

has anyone looked at this ?

(as an after thought this would probably be unfair to dancers so i expect that there is no HAM effect)

Devs wouldn't waste time and resources on something that subtle. It's likely a case of people subconsciously convincing themselves it sounded different.

I agree. On a subconscious level these people "think" they are hearing a different sound.

I believe that experimentation is part of the crafting process as a whole, but it doesnot have an affect on everything you can craft.

Someone brought up a good idea about the better the quality the lower to action cost. That would be great.

had 3 people listen to me play a 12% slither and a 91% slither. Same song. Same flourishes in the same order. All agreed it sounded the same.
