Thread: Where has the joy of entertaining gone?
The other night I headed out on the road and visited Anchorhead. Played there for a couple of hours. ThenI moved to Mos Eisley and sat my Nagralon down. Met a lot of nice people. It had been a while since I played out of my own Cantina and it was a blast. I need to go on the road more! ![]()
Only problemI see is getting into a group. With only 8 people ina group right now it is tough. The developer's heard an earful on that at the Fan Fest. The agreed that larger entertainer groups are something that is needed.

I'm sorry, my last post didn't sound as respectful as I meant it to.
I really do mean no offense, but having been a master musician / dancer / id / ent, and seeing the state of it now, I just don't get why people still play these profs. Certainly nobody here owes me any justification for why they do a thing, in game or out, but I'm very curious.
The few remaining ents all seem very obsessive about entertaining, even holding a nearly religious dogma about the right and wrong way to do so. What's the point, exactly?
Again this doesn't sound as respectful as I had hoped, but hopefully some of you will look passed my crude lack of tact and at least attempt an honest answer. It's my deficiency not seeing things your way, not yours for seeing them the way you do.

Not just your posts but your signature are both disrespectful and insulting, however I'm just gullible enough to try and answer although I know you won't get it. I keep entertainer because I enjoy it. It is no simpler than that, I find it fun to group up with friends, create bands and dance troups, and watch people go WOW when they see us. I mostly play at either a rotating party or out in public locations. I rarely go inside an NPC cantina any more. It is a game after all and if it isn't fun then don't pay for it. I find entertaining fun and I really don't understand AFK play of any kind. Why pay for the game if it is so unenjoyable that you automate your toon and leave the computer?
This is a persistent game, there is no winning, no final boss. I find it really childish and silly that so many people act like there is an end and an absolute need to do better at it than everyone else. I play for fun and fun alone. I find combat to be boring after too many repitions and prefer multiple play styles.
But since CU there are less Real Entertainers and I think that is a sad way it went. But I still hope the gamecreators will find a better way for the Entertainers because I think its an important profsseion esspecially for Rroleplaying and the likes. little sidepoke I want more songs i dream og the rythm of the existing ones, lol.
I tried comabt/Ent it was not pratical at all. I really never hunt in a group, I do hunt withtwo others for fun.

As a hybrid combat/ent you can do fine with a group. You will only be level 54 but grouped with others you can take any content, help the group, and make good money. I'm about to respec Elwyn to a hybrid from a pure entertainer even though I do have an alt. If you can't find a group you know how to reach me, Imaji, Ellwyn, or Inola. Our guild is active most evenings and we would be glad to have you.
I prefer to attempt everything alone before asking for help. On Ahazi I was Rifles/music before the CUand that was great, I did grind up another combat to continue with the village quest. (really enjoy doing them). I knew in time I would unlock and make another entertainer (happy to say that happened). For that exit quest, there I was, 7am no one around.
I thought Well do I sit and wait? No I can not wait, so off I run to Mellichae's camp. I sat there studying that for a good 15+ minutes then thought 'shoot, I'm going to try'. After 1 hour and two incaps he was defeated and that wonderful popup showed up. I could not have done that if I was ent/combat.
This morningI just made novice musician there and starting the long road to master. My droids will be unretired and repainted! YAY. Now I get both combat when I want and entertainment when I need. ![]()
