I believe it's called the suit shirt, and the tie is included if you're male, no tie if you're female I believe.

And the pocketed shorts would work, or pantaloons.

Combat professions are the same way, if you master an elite profession there is still something down at the base master profession that enhances you. Like with all brawler elite professions, we can't get warcry2 or intimidation2 without also getting master brawler. For rifleman you get a critical +5 speed bonus if you also master marksman. I guess the same principle holds true for the master entertainer thing

That's closer to a Dancer's relationship to Master Entertainer. (M.Ent gets formal2, footloose2, +10 wound healing) But for Musicians that Master box represents 1/5th of our sounds from instruments and a unique song (how many songs are there?)

A proposed solution: move Ceremonial up with the Bandfill, make a second instrument like a mandoviol with Ballad, and give the mandoviol some extra tags or something so that reaching Master Entertainer still presents something worthwhile. Perhaps a reduced action cost?

No, because then Master Entertainer is NOT worthwhile. Formal 2's base is bugged as all get-out and the flourishes are no different than formal. Footloose 2 is practically worthless, and again, the Flourishes are the same. So, the worthwhile thing about ME? The Mando and Ceremonial.

Musicians fall into the same cry(sob story) other professions fell into a while back, i.e. the special abilities in Master Marksman, Master Brawler, etc. People need to give it up already, because it's getting older than my grandmother. So many threads in this forum seem to become a "We REALLY should have the Mando and Ceremonial" thread that it's not even funny.

Master Entertainers deserve a unique skill and use that only THEY get for investing skill points in dancing, musician, ID, and the healing tree. It makes sense that the unique items deal with dancing and music. And mind you, the dance reward isn't even unique or good enough to be considered a reward. Which, as said earlier, leaves the two musician ones.

If you really want it, suck it up and invest the points. As it is, you don't even get a 100 skill mod unless you get Master Entertainer as well, unless they "fixed" that.

Hostile? Maybe. Sick of hearing this arguement? Completely. I mastered Dancer. Put some hard thought into it, and figured Entertainer was worth mastering. Then also turned around and mastered Musician. And, hm, maybe it's just me, but guess what? When it's now to decide what skill points to drop, which master title with one tree, guess what's going first? No, not musician. Not dancer.Entertainer and ID, because frankly, I find Master Musician slightly more rewarding than Master Entertainer.

Then again, I actually like the Nalargon instead of spending my time whining about the Mando. Because, hello, once you've had it, it's cool and all..but it isn't all that.

Actually I agree with you, to a point. I got master entertainer and I absolutely LOVE the Mandoviol and Ceremonial, but let's take a look at the numbers.

5 instruments, 10 songs
The M.Ent slot has 1 instrument and 1 song, both EXCLUSIVE that no other could create.

The mandoviol is 20% of all entertainer music
Ceremonial is 10%
There is a 2% overlap (Ceremonial is 2% per istrument, so the 2% for mandoviol is represented twice)

That makes a total of 28% of the possible music is tied up in Master Entertainer. Was it worth it? Yes. Should it be this way? I don't know.

I agree musicians have too little instruments and songs.

But look at this for dancers:

Basic, Basic2, Rhythmic, Rhythmic2, Footloose, Formal, (ME: Footloose2, Formal2), Popular, Popular2, Poplock, Poplock2, Lyrical, Exotic, Exotic2, Exotic3, Exotic4, Lyrical2. The base dances for the 2s(and 3s..and 4s) are different, but the flourishes are the exact same The Lyrical/2 and Formal/2 bases are fubared and don't show up properly. The Exotics have all share about2 flourishes, Exotic3 has one unique flourish and one flourish that is half unique that then twists automatically into the first flourish, and exotic4 has 2 unique flourishes. Musicians, at least, get different sounding songs with different sounding flourishes each song.

I agree both professions need more content. Musician needs to have all those horn sounds removed as they're too redundant. But taking away the Mando isn't the answer: adding new instruments and new sounds to Musician is. Along with new dances and unique flourishes. If ME offered a unique, cool knew dance, I'd take it right up again happily. But as it stands, the Mando and Ceremonial, to me, are no longer worth the investment when I need combat skills.
