this isnt a flame, just letting you know what all the ruckuss is about.

BH have been nerfed and nerfed and nerfed to the point where we cant even use our skills.

our attention came yesterday because the devs realized that we got seriously messed up in the last patch with the weapon switching delay.

bounty hunters have to switch weapons ALOT in a fight.

now we cant.

this isnt a whine, I just thought I'd give you guys the scoop.

it'd be like if you guys only got to do a flourish once every 10 minutes.

I don't begrudge the BH profession the attention its getting, I just don't like the fact that the Entertainment professions have been virtually unplayable for a long time and not a single Dev has even acknowledged our problems, much less posted on our forums. As soon as something comes in that makes the BH profession a little less convenient, the Devs are all over them, asking what they can do to fix it.

Theadvertised playstyles of Galaxies were Combat, Crafting, and Entertainment. It seems that the actual playstyles are Jedi, Powergamers, and Combat. I don't mind other professions getting attention, everyone needs some, but Entertainment professions haven't gotten any attention other than a couple of half-thought through "fixes."

well.. lol not to gripe, but this is the 1st time a dev has done anything for the bounty hunters ever. seriously. our profession has been the most broken profession in the game for a year now. thats no joke either. ask any combat player. (I could give examples, but I'll spare you)

but,I apologize for my ignorance.I had no idea that entertainers got the shaft too. I'll let you in on a secret though... wanna know how we got our attention?

people on the BH boards went APESH!T. they couldnt possibly delete our nasty posts (not MY nasty posts... BH in general) fast enough. for every post they'd delete, 20 new would show up. after a solid day, they gave in hehe

not that our new bandaid "fix" is any good. as a matter of fact, its going to ruin our profession... so be careful what you wish for

JustG wrote this to the BH community RE their fixeson the 1st:

It is currently on Test Center. Unfortunately, it is grouped with other fixes to other areas of the game that we are still working on (ie: some things failed regression testing.).

We can't seperate it from the other fixes and push it out tomorrow, I am sorry :-(

It will go out next Tuesday.

Additionally, today our Lead Programmer assigned himself all of your open bugs, so they will be fixed at some point in time, as soon as we can.

Our apologies for the delay in the skill point reduction.

- g

Okay, we knew about the skillpoint reduction, nothing major there for us, we knew that G had promised them that they would get virtualy any changes they wanted as soon as possible, but the interesting part is about the Lead Programmer. All the BH's open bugs are being stomped by Galaxies' Lead Programmer. Somehow, I don't think even the SOE junior apprentice internhas been assigned to look at the entertainers' bugs, much less do something about them. Anyone elsewant to start logging our bugs in as BH bugs?

Oh, and you'll notice that here G is apologizing to the BH community about the less-than-a-week delay in fixing their Jedi bonuses. I have yet to see an apology to the Social professions for the 6+ month delay on the Hutt Casino.

Entertainers are the "red-headed step child" of SWG. Being a "social" class you think our constant "social" complaints and everything else we BS about would change this... but nope... we're still ignored and locked in the closet under the stairs waiting paitently for something... someday.

It's amazing how absolutely everything was started by this Jedi system of Holocrons. Not to point fingers at the Jedi or anything (as much as I want to,) but if the Devs stuck to the original plan for Jedi then none of these problems would be around. They would've gotten many of the current issues fixed with BHs and heck, even the little entertainer bugs (like registering a Cantina.)

With the Holocron Jedi system, the Devs merely made it simple for players to become Jedi. I seem to recall way back in the day that the Devs mentioned something about how Jedi was going to be nearly impossible, and that once you do, you're basically screwed (Blue glowies? ). This all ended when they got lazy and made the Holocron system. With this, just about any player could become a Jedi if they powergamed enough. And this lead to all the problems, with buffs suddenly being a necessity etc. Also, more Jedi were suddenly part of the player populace, and their needs became #1, because the Jedi profession became the top of many people's priority in the game. And when they reach the top and discover it's bugged to hell, they become upset. (Not like Mastering any other profession...) Even SWG's advertising is focused around "Becoming a Jedi." The focus has been converted from being an average player in the Star Wars universe, to becoming an elite Jedi.

And of course now, the whole next two patches is to implement the new Jedi system, so that Jedi can have their fancy Council and so forth. I don't mean to blame the Jedi, I am just merely pointing out how everything could've been fixed if the Devs stuck with the original plan and made a unique Jedi system that would enable all the other problems with professions to be fixed before the Jedi system failed miserably.

Ugh, sorry for the rant. Just had to do it.
