Thread: Silence form the Devs speaks volumes.
to keep this short, i seen some coments saying newjedi was doing a poor job, ive seen some that says he's doing a great job... the devs speaking up isnt newjedi's job... his job is to just supply the devs a top 5 list.
the rest is the devs job.
even though i may not agree with the top 5 choices given all the problems we have(everyone is entitled thier oppinion) newjedi has shown nearly every problem i have seen so far and will eventually put them inthe top5 as we (eventually) actually get bugs fixed(they should have never posted that bugs were fixed if they werent).
even though i have stated that i dont agree with newjedi's current top 5, he IS doing his job up to speed and is doing it as best he can. so as far as that goes, newjedi... dont worry about the flak you get if someone dont like what you choose.. you can only pick 5 a month. just keep on posting them till we get results.
You_Myst (Meika): thanks for your words of encouragement. I appreciate them! For what it's worth, the list I've compiled doesn't necessarily contain my personal top-five issues. My personal priorities are a little different. But my job is to report the issues and suggestions most prominently raised by the Musician community as a whole, as evidenced primarily by posts in this forum and secondarily by informal contact with other Musicians in the game. I heard most frequently about distinct sounds for instruments, new songs and flourishes, better /tip choices, better gigs and content, and integration of newbs into bands.
That said, I do expect our list to change after we get feedback from the devs. We've already got a big new patch that added some things that people have strong opinions about. (E.g., the new entertainer missions.) Once the devs post their responses, I'll be starting a new thread to gather input on our next List. So, as you say, the list will develop and change over time.
Thanks again for your kind words. See you in the cantina!

On the "/change" bug, I've found that "/changebandmusic" works flawlessly and consistently. "/changemusic" won't let me change what I'm playing if a band song is in progress, but "/changebandmusic <name>" will let anyone in a group of any size segway into a new song. I've tried it in bands from size 2 to 20 and had narry a problem.
And NewJedi, in my opinion, you're the quintessential very definition of "profession correspondent." You enjoy your profession as it is and see changes that should come, but by virtue of having fun with it already and leading a community of folks having fun being able to do it at all, you represent us very well. Kudos to you ![]()
I really and trully would rather have the Devs focus on those professions that aren't really able to do anything, like DEs and Rangers among others. Those are the folks I feel most for. I've found my path in SWG, and it so happens it's along skill lines that function. I couldn't imagine what it'd be like to want to like another profession but not be able to do anything with it.
I am a bit confused.
Is the /changebandmusic command not the same as the /change command? Even solo i use /change and I thought the game takes the highest whole command in alphabetical order from the fragment that you type. Is there a /change command, a /changeb command and a /changem command?
In response to the previous post, I would hope there are enough developers in this huge game to take care of our friends in the other professions and us at the same time. Why should any profession have to wait if they have the staff to take care of problems simultaneously. I think saying let's wait for the more hurt professions to be fixed should be a moot point, unless the Dev team is seriously understaffed.
Just to give an update. I check through each profession forum and (if my math is correct) there are 8 professions remaining that have not received a response.
As you may know, 4 of them are in the Entertainer profession line: Entertainer, Dancer, Image Designer and Musician.
Not complaining per se but would really like to move on to other discussions about whatcan make the musician profession better. ![]()
