Your Cantina? You mean your very own Cantina? Thats cool I have my own as well in a large generic floor plan 2 house. Nal sitting cozy with 4 loud speakers around it. But if it is public cantina then you sound to pompous for your own good, kinda reminds me of Ero'Tika (spelling?) on flurry. Why should I be ashamed of Playing while AFK? I am a MM / ME and I do it so give better exp to those that play late night early mornings, more ppl in group better exp for all and the "bonus" for having a MM in the group.

Like I said it makes you sound kinda bad the way you put it. However if you do own your own Cantina then more power to ya. In Theed on Lowca we almost always have 20 ppl in the group and if someone comes in and wants in group they do a roll call of who is there and one of the people who do not respond gets kicked so the new player can join. Please do not take what I said as an insult or anything bad, I mearly trying to reply to something that came off the wrong way to me, thats all. I was in a group with 1 of each type of Instrument a while ago and that many master playing any song sounds great and really helps out the exp of the others in the group.

Why should you be? Because you're doing a dis-service to anyone who became an entertainer for the social aspect it provides. Last night I had to boot 3 AFK Macro user from a group I was running because their macro included a /startmusic command. I had two new entertainers I was trying to get into the music, and they kept starting the music after a /stopband command, and the new users couldn't play.

Public Cantina or no, the entertainers are the only thing that make it a visited building. It's a great place to talk and meet people, and a good place to swap skills and learn about others. Besides, what's the point of setting a Macro if you're an MM/ME? You pay $14.95/month to give other people an XP bonus? You're missing out on the social aspect of the game, which is really all an entertainer is good for at this time. You can't benefit from the XP bonus, and someone would be out of their mind to tip you. It'd be like giving a waitress a tip when all she did was give the busboy instructions on what to do to help you.

I work overnights and play in the mornings. On my days off, I play until they take it down for the never-once-mentioned-but-happens-like-clockwork "scheduled" patch. I don't have a problem with going AFK to eat a meal, grab something, answer the phone, etc. When I go AFK, I just go AFK. I don't get Music XP, and so be it. I'm not doing anything special, and I'll be coming back. But at least when I earn XP I'm bothering to play the game.

Just by using an AFK macro you're telling everyone who comes into a Cantina that they're not go enough to be treated to your prescense there. You're there for one reason, XP, and nothing else. So do us a favor, go to an isolated corner, and play by yourself. Even a MM/ME isn't welcome if they're ruining the experience for everyone else. I don't need the extra XP that much.

Back yet again, for another round of SWG... um... fun. Yeah, that's it. (It's not just a diversion while I wait in the queues for WoW BG's)

You are correct I do not need the exp. I do it so that people can get the exp boost of haveing more in the group. People who have /stopband macro are jerks and should be kicked from group. Not all macros have that, I have /startmusic swg1 in mine just in case some stops band I can continue to play within a minute or two. Also a dis-service give me a break it is a great service as my macro does not interfere with anyone in group and IF the group wants to kick me to bring in an active member thats ok I don't need the exp lol. Out of their mind to tip me? I agree lol I never have asked for a single tip and it is Obvious when I am afk. You need to maybe take a time out lol, you seem way to irratated to really enjoy the game. When I do play game I enjoy the social aspect of it. I put on private concerts, play for my PA, etc.. Heck just this mornign I did a concert for the 1 person that was near by and guess whaty I wasn't even in a building I pulled out the Mando and strum'd my heart out with perfectly timed fires jets as I threw my instrument in the air and awsome dazzle effects while I played behind my back. Even tho the guy didn't get healed and I didn't get exp he tipped me 500 credits because he really enjoyed the impromptu performance. I get tells regularly to come "sing" for people, since I have songs macro'd thru verse and other special effects for the performance. When I play I play. I ahve put alot of thought and time into my charecter and being that my macro doesn't alienate anyone I have yet to be kicked from a group for being afk. They enjoy my company and the boost they get. So don't think ALL people who go afk are jerks. I am sorry some of the people you have dealt with are, we all aren't. Have a good one.

afk macrotainers are the bane of entertainers who actually sit at the keyboard and TALK to the people they're healing. Since the afk macrotainers have invaded my city tips have gone to next to nothing. Why tip what is effectively a dancing droid... and the folks think we're all macrotainers now... Oh, and the cute little sayings the twi'lek ladies are saying during their macros? Grrr... after the 200th time hearing it in a row? It ain't cute.

No other class can log on, hit a macro and gain xp all day and all night until a patch in complete safety and macrotainers shouldn't be able to either. I say this as a Musician, not as some angry little scout wanting free xp.

I'd like to add my 2 credits.

1) I never ask for tips, but usually get quite alot since I'm always playing live and try to see my customers when they enter the cantina (a simple /nod is very effective in saying that: hey, I'm here, I'm live and I'm playing for you).

2) I adore MM's that macro in the late hours (since I'm in europe, during weekends that's when I play). It helps give the songs a fuller sound and it raises the awarded XP. I'm still playing for the social aspects, but anyway you look at it the grinding part isn't much fun, so I appreciate any means which might shorten it forme.

3) Group leaders that macro tick me off though... It really isn't hard to do a /makeleader before you go AFK...
