I was in keren cantina to fix my BF. I was the only one there. The stormtrooper filled up my chat window like I was in Cnet. He then proceeded to give me, an active IMP combatant who had just been outside killing rebel NPC a hard time and calling me a reb.
So yeah its immersive and useful, NOT. I'm fine with the patrols, just tune down the frequency and the amount of chatter, and for gosh sakes make them smart enough to not bad mouth their own faction members. Talk about immersion breaking try openly wearing your status and having an NPC from your side give you a hard time about being from the other side.

Here are the options:
1) Complain to the devs and in 5 months something will happen
2) Have Rebels guard cantinas and shoot the stupid troopers

Sorry, I popped over here to talk about the jukeboxes and this post caught my eye too so I hope you dont mind if I add a non-Ent point of view.
A lot of us users of ents are just as fed up with this as some of you are. The cantina was always a bit of a spam fest with the afk'ers (which a lot of us also can't stand) but now it's just not the relaxing place it is supposed to be where we listen and watch away our battle fatigue and headaches. It's just a war zone indoors.
Personally I think if you made people aware of an alternative place to watch you (hotels, theatres, etc) then those who came would be the type of clients I guess you enjoy. Those who appreciate your perfomance, chat to you and enjoy the interaction and also TIP! I NEVERever tip an AFK ent. I usually sendtells to anyone I think is not AFK if they havent at first acknowledged me to see who to give my xp and money to.
I guess you'd lose out on the combat bots with their uber bf and wounds who run in, heal and run straight off to the next mission, but those of us who do appreciate what you and the dancers do would make up for that lower xp in money I have no doubt.
Just my view from "outside the community", and my pledge that if you all move to hotels to offer ATK healing and buffs, then I am there with my mud coated credits every time.

This has to be a bug. While I haven't been in cantinas much lately many of my friends are there for long periods of time. None of them have talked about this happening.

Oh great, I jsut got to experience these *lovely* little NPCs in Mos Eisley
I come into the cantina, and one is in there chatting it's head off, but finally goes away.
In the next five minutes, TWO more come in a start talking on and on about the same things.
Good job there!

Well, I can only talk about Theed here, but there the stormtroopers will spawn directly at the cantina entrance every few minutes(and often there'll be two appearing on top of each other), walk in, do their routine, than stand around a bit, walk towards the cantina door, and despawn. So they are leaving again - they are appearing AND disappearing, in fact.
Who holds the city doesn't seem to make a difference - on Chimaera, Theed started out as Imp controlled, now it's Rebel, and we still have those stormies come in...

On Bloodfin I haven't seen this happen in Theed. However, there is a attackable commoner that constantly spawns inside the cantina.

Yeah, we have that one too - seen him on Chimaera and on Starsider in fact. He always pops up again immediately after being killed - he's really stubborn and determined to get his drink, no matter what

I want an Option to turn off all NPC speech that is not targetted at me. I want to hear them if they're scanning me, I wan to know if I might be in trouble, but it's getting very hard to find out when someone is saying anything to me in spatial.

Yes he is on corbantis as to and camped now as well. There is constant gun fire along the side of the bar where he spawns now. I've simply quit going to theed cantina for any extended period of time in the past few days. This was my home where I spent many many hours. Now generally giving Theed cantina a wide berth; I'm out hunting and spending time with other guild mates so I guess its good they drove me out.

In regards to the spamming NPC's: Still haven't seen this happen on Bloodfin in Theed, but when I logged onto Valcyn to help a friend this did occur.
Seems to only be some of the servers.
Has anyone reported this besides in these forums?
