I'm 90% sure that the skill level of the people in the group does not matter at least not for music exp, I still haven't figured out how ent healing exp works, playing sw1 having another party member switch instruments does not change the music exp/tick assuming the number of active performers does not change.

Actually, I've noticed a HUGE difference in XP when one or more masters is in the group. I haven't quantified it, but I've seen it enough times to believe in it. Maybe it's just that masters attract large groups. I suppose now that I'll have to try some objective measurements to see if it's really true or not.

There were 4 of us playing last night in the Tyrena cantina 2 Masters, me halfay through Music Knowledge 4 and a new player. Her XP wasabout doublecompared to the 10 strong gang of newbies she had been playing with earlier. So this i guess means it does still work like that.

Me, and several other masters muscians and other entertaines found out a while ago that to maximize group xp everyone in the group should use their higest instument, You get a lot more xp playing in a group with a master on the nal compared to the same master on a silterhorn.

Sorry fireseed but you and those other entertainers are all wrong, most likely ur testing was flawed, the only thing about ur group that effects ur exp is the number of people in ur group performing at the time, so likely when you did that flawed test it just so happened that there were more people performing in ur group when people were using thier highest instrument and fewer when people were using lower instruments, and that only effects music exp too, for healing exp the only factor is how much healing is being done by the group.

Another possibility popped to mind, people listening and cheering also give small increases to the exp, so that could be another reason for you to think the way you do, if you really want to test just get a master musician to go with you to the middle of nowhere in the wilderness, then do 2 tests, one with the master playing the nalargon and you playing ur highest instrument, 2 with the master playing the slitherhorn and you playing the exact same instrument as before doing flourishes exactly the same. You will notice the exp is identical.

I really need an edit... anyway on top of those conditions for the test make sure you play the same song both times too.

Actually you do get more xp when you play ur highest instrument. I dont think that the group xp goes up. ie. if a mm was playing the nag instead of a slith then the mm gets more xp. However, if there is a noob in the same group with that mm they would still get the same amount of xp despite what instrument the mm was playing.

Just my 2 notes,
