Thread: What's happened to tipping?
I think people tip the new faces they see, I know they are listening because of the experience ticks, ever had 20 people listen to you without cheering or clapping ? But experience doesn't pay my shuttle tickets or new clothes or 7k + skills that I need when there's nobody online to teach me.
I was the same when I just started, I had good tips and sometimes made 40k on a single night after spending tons on clothes and things but these days I only lose money on a daily basis and if it keeps up I might have to look into picking up some combat skill to pay for the bills and then people will start to bug me why I'm not entertaining. I used to tip the guys that healed me and kept me playing/dancing but the fact is... I can no longer afford it, so to all those who I told some time ago that you weren't doing a good enough job at entertaining:
My sincere apologies, I was wrong, I am starting to see that now.
I was doing pretty well at earning tips as a musician however, I decided that just in case I got stranded on an outer rim world or what not, I needed to be able to earn some cash and defend myself. I took up the rifle. Now, after awhile I can make an average of 1700 credits every two missions. That's enough to get by in a jam. I still play my heart out whenever possible and often still get great tips. It is a good feeling though to know that if needed I can make my own money and support myself. That way tips are like a bonus. Not to mention I can heal my own mind. The only thing I find a bit funny about the whole thing is what people must think out in the wilds when they see a Virtuoso blasting away at beasties instead of his Kloo Horn lol.
Well I'm a dabbler and have had Novice Ent since right after launch for healing mind in the field. The only time I play in a cantina is when I'm in a place like Nashal, Doaba G. or Deeja Peak and there isn't a soul around and I need fixing.
Every blue moon when I perform in a cantina cause there is no one else around people drift in and out and watch me. Most leave without a thanks... ![]()
There has been a few times in these towns when I'm healing folks in the med center who didn't clone and will give up my play time, invite them to the cantina and heal them up. In those cases I sometimes get tipped.
Glad to hear from the original poster that folks are spending the cash.
