Thread: Companion professions input
well, I'm going to be master entertainer and master musician (eventually), and master creature handler as well! For now I also have pistol skills and some artisan skills, but I'm dropping them later.
You can see me dancing and playing music with my pets in the cantina! lol

Master Musician / Master Entertainer / Teras Kasi Master
Hey, I've gotta protect the peace within the cantinas
. And gettin into a 'bar fight' inside a cantina makes things all the more easy to whoop someone as a TK
.Initially I wanted to go Master Musician / Master Smuggler, until I found out about the mando and ceremonial, since then I've gone through so many drafts until now. And I'm pretty happy atm with it, though the path to TKM will be a tough one
, XP so slow in group with friends who happen to be ranged fighters (they do much more damage than I before I hit it, and if I do go to hit it first I need too much healin
).
I hope that as a TK (workin on Novice as soon as I hit master musician...should be tuesday night) the amount of damage I take will finally start to decrease, but it's not lookin that way. It took EQ well over a year to get the monks right...and they're still tweaking them to this day. I hope that TK's will become more monk than bare handed warriors that they seem to be.
My character plan is Master Smuggler, Master Pistoleer, and Musician up through Musical Knowledge 4.
That gives me all instruments except the one stringed and one keyboard instrument...as well as the Ceremonial and Virtuoso songs. But still pretty good musician for being my 3rd profession. I'm not just taking it up to heal myself, I want to be nearly as good with it as a master musician, which is why I'm going directly up the Musical Knowledge path.
Hmm good question. going Master Musician myself. Nothing like a big old wookie Jumping on a Nalagron. ![]()
Second field. I have made master Artisian. And Trying to do both /yawn and click click click sound is getting to me. So. I have decided to go Master Musician, Master Creature Hander and Novice Carbineer.. Did I say I am a wookie as well. Come see the Dancing Dewbacks while listening to the wookie show At The Womp Rat. Just north of Achorhead on Intrepid
master entertainer/ master musician/ artisan (domestic 3/ surveying/ biz 4) / merchant (advertising/ vendors) / medic (no lvl) / marksman(pistol lvl2)
basicly i craft the low levl stuff sell off recources make and food and instraments play and promote my cantinas income flow is like this
entertaining public shows= about 15-30k/night 40 some
entertaining private shows= bout 50k/ week (only 2nd week tho and this week the band got 350k in event orders so we'll c it may become the main income)
selling stuff (instraments tons of crafting tools, food and misc)= 15k/ day
selling resources= 10k/ day
missions= 2500/ day
these are very rough numbers but i hope that helps obviously these are not all profit as expenses are not taken from these for those that have it
First and foremost i'm aiming for Master Musician (halfway up that tree)
Second and third careers are all related artisan stuff - I am a novice merchant (for the bartender in my cantina), almost a novice chef (to fill the bar), might take some tailoring (to make my own clothes and help out other entertainers), and currently am a full blown surveyor (to make instruments at no cost and of course food/bev). Still not sure how far i'm climbing up any of these trees - probably only as far as my cantina needs.
I actually started as an Artisan with no thoughts of entertaining until i walked into a cantina for the first time![]()
Going for Master Musician, Master Entertainer, and whatever skill points I can spair on Smuggler (more than halfway to Master). Wemi is like a rock star (minus the star part, I guess)....he'll tear up hotel rooms, swoon the ladies, talk big...yet he's a nice guy that just has a love for the wild. And I don't mean wilderness. He's learned through his days of hanging out with pushers and smugglers how to make his own spice, so he does that to keep his addiction in check. It's much safer than going through a dealer, since you never know who you can trust.
I also am a scout and I just picked up marksman skills yesterday. Scouting is useful bacause I can make camps and harvest the hides from the creatures I kill on solo hunting missions. The marksman skills make hunting easier and safer and quicker (more profitable!) It helps to pay for all that expensive musician training when I can't find someone to train me. I also figure the marksman skill is good because this is a dangerous Galaxy we live in, a girl's got to protect herself!
I tried crafting and and medic and found both to be boring. I decided on marksman rather than brawler because I'd much rather shoot something from a distance, than have to punch it in the face!
Eventually I'd like to be a creature handler. I'd rather raise the little beasties than shoot 'em!
Currently
Novice Musician heading to Master Musician
Artisan Surveying Skills (currently at III) for building instruments heading to Surveying IV.
Artisan Tinkering - Build proper crafting tools (build my own I don't buy) and batteries for my droid (Q)
Rifle - Advanced Skill heading to Rifleman.
That's what I'm doin' and perhaps I'll grab a novice medic to help heal myself as I only have 450 health!
I've found that just about anything in the artisan tree complements musican quite well. But experiment, see what you like to do.
Just word to the wise though, a melee fighter is VERY hard to do when you're customized for musician ![]()
