True, but this isnt the issue.
I pay the same subs fee as any other profession-playing person. I am not a second class citizen, but I am being treated as one.
If you wish to accept the mantle of whipping-boy then be my guest, but I for one will not.
Should we not recieve the same amount of development time as any other profession? Yes, we should!
Are we recieving the amount of customer-care and development-time we are paying for and deserve? Not on your nelly!
Really, I think the situation is simply that EVERY profession in this game right now needs a lot of help. The Devs have their work cut out for them. We're not the only ones who deserve some care and development time, everyone pays the subscription fee, and everyone's professions are pretty screwed up to some degree right now.
True, some are more worse off than others (us being part of that group - Musician and Dancer master-level benefits to the game community are still non-existant). But, I think it's a good move that the Devs are now focusing on getting the huge amounts of bugs in this game under control.
We ARE getting attention paid to us right now, but I'd imagine it will still be awhile before we see the results of that attention. Right now, bugs need to be resolved in a big way.
Don't feel like we're being ignored, we're really not...the game is just getting some much needed bug-squashing for awhile. New content is no fun when UI bugs and other annoyances keep you from really enjoying the game.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the schematic for the Nalargon was always in MM? I am in the same business as Fragpuppie - selling instruments. I'm bothered by this change a bit - whatever happened to interdependence - but not as much as by my inability to make most of the props, since I am ME/MM with no Dancer.Nalargon certification was in MM. The schem to build it was in 0040.
What really bothers me about the props (at least the ones in Entertainer) is that there is no reason not to use the cheapest materials around, and no experimentation at all. I've always used really high quality material in my instruments. One, because it's fun finding the resournces, and two, because even if no-one else could see how good my instruments were, I though one day the devs might do something about it, and make my instruments sound better than the ones made with crap. Well, the devs did something, and yet again, it was everything we didn't want.I think the problem the Devs had with making quality matter was that so many Ents say that they don't want to be a crafting profession. Rather than throw us into the resource gathering game, and into the resource market (that's horribly overpriced in my opinion), they just let us use whatever we can to build what we need.
I was pretty upset at the lost promise of experimentation on instruments. I think it's just too bad that nothing came of that. But, they can always stick experimentation back in later, if they figure something out to tie to it.
To nitpick, the Nalargon schematic was in 4000
Warryyr's on the ball in general here though. A lot of professions are hurting, and the plan is to give love to everyone, meaning it'll probably come in general sort of slowly. And the focus is big on fixing bugs right now for the entire game, which yeah, probably should've been prevented or been fixed before, but you can't go back in time, so it's good they're focused on getting a cleaner game.
As for our stuff, I haven't been given reason to believe that our other inspirations aren't being coded up right now. I've asked Tiggs to see if she can get any info on their status or what they'll be like (or anything about them really), so I hope she'll be able to get something to us, though it's no guarantee (they were obviously not ready to be shared when the design document was turned in by Chrysalide).
D'oh!

The last thing they 'Did all at once' was the Combat Upgrade. You're telling me that was a good thing?
I do understand that the dev's claim to be looking at the class, my issue is that for 2 years Musician has seen almost no significant positive time investment from SoE. I am also aware that other classes are in the same boat, i play a Ranger (in fact my FIRST ever character was a Master Ranger Master Musician so I could make camps and entertain the troops
) still and love that the class hasnt changed much since release.
I'm still using the same instruments, playing the same songs (few new ones i admit, but not many) and using the same flourishes and I have no problem with that. My issue is when time IS invested, the result is removal of mind buffs, crippling bugsandremoval of BF....this leads me to believe that weare only looked at as an afterthought to the revamping ofcertainabilities for the more combat-centric professions.
I.E.
"Let's make combat classesmore slick, BF is a pain for combat and for healers, lets remove it and make everyone happy!"
"What about Entertainers?"
"Let's just remove it anyway, they won't mind"
I understand this is a bit cynical and im not trying to make a big issue out of it, but it's just what my experience leads me to believe. I also do not believe that we will see anything of any significance for the next 6 months. I do hope i am wrong ![]()

I miss those days. We used to get *NO* attention. It was fine. Now we get things REMOVED. And to everyone saying "just wait, they're fixing it" or "be constructive and learn to love your profession" well... I *DID* love my profession and I *AM* being patient. Playing a nerfed (destroyed) profession for a few months now is patient.
If they even attempted to fix us, that'd be one thing. I have no reason whatsoever to believe they have any legitimate intent on fixing our profession. Why? Does anyone remember the promises of the past *TWO* years about "removing afk musicians"? Where are AFK musicians now?
If they told us anything concrete, that'd be one thing. I would be happy with "we'll be introducing elite music buffs in October." That'd suck horribly but would still be better than the "we're removing all usefulness from your profession and we *promise* we'll give you something back... someday."
And to counter all you "you hafta love it for loving it, not for what "buffing" you can do" or whatever it is you say... think about it. Cantinas used to have a point. I used to stay there and hang out and wait for people to come in. I'd meet all kinds of great ppl, and have great time as they were healing their mind wounds and BF. SOE has taken that away from me. Tell me... what "love" is it I'm supposed to have for this broken profession that will convince me to be the official SOE whipping boy?
As for the earlier post about "complaining versus constructive criticism" well... I honestly don't think SOE gives a rat's patooty about either. You're right... quitting (mass quitting) is the only thing they'll ever listen to.
I still don't think they'd listen to that.
