Thread: Poll: BF healing in Ranger camps?

I've gotta say I've got mixed feelings about this.
I'm a big fan of interdependency, and giving the rangers an 'interdepency hook' would definitely be a good thing. I think this is especially true if the ability requires a large investment in the ranger tree, as it makes rangers worth a lot and not dabbleable.
On the other hand, while I certainly would enjoy being invited on hunting parties as the entertainer, I know I would miss the cantina greatly (I've been away from the cantina much of my time the past couple weeks due to various errands, and I've been missing it a lot). I do fear a large exodus of customers from the static city cantinas, as a significant portion of them are those who only come to get their BF healed and go on their way. Even though these people may not be the most sociable people, it does make you feel like you're doing a worthwhile thing by entertaining in the cantina.
I think that it may balance well, however. Many large organized guilds or such will recruit a ranger and entertainer(s) to get the easiest play available to the guild members, where smaller guilds or unguilded players will more likely feel that its not worth becoming a ranger just to heal BF in the field when cantinas aren't that far away really.
So I'll go with a generally, yes I favor this (but only as long as it won't be something that someone can get without investing significant skill points).

Houses are fine if you really wanna pull the rpg out of mmorpg =P. But it's a moot subject given the better hunting planets: Yavin, Dathomir, Endor.

What I would like to see it the ability for the Master level entertainer professions be able to create an entertainment camp. Some small tents and a stage with lighting that would act like a portable cantina. This would allow healing and buffing in the field near where combat or missions are and would also allow us to have some great outdoor events and parties.

Just to make it clear, it's not suggesting that rangers replace dancers and musicians:
1) BF auto heals in camps, slowly, over time. But if an entertainer is present, it works the same as in a cantina. The main problem I see with this proposal is that it's suggested that BF would heal faster than it would if you actually visited a novice entertainer. "and never let it heal faster than what you would get from a novice musician/dancer (but higher than a novice entertainer, based on level)"
2) BF does not heal over time, but if an entertainer is present, the camp will work the same as a cantina.

I think this idea is just fine. I see the main problem with buffbots being that entertainers are devalued as players. So long as BF healing works the same as in a cantina, I think it's a great ability to give to a ranger. I, for one, would be happy to go along in a hunting party!

I think it would be good for all parties if entertainers could heal BF in ranger camps. But at a decreased rate compared to cantinas.
Also, if we could buff in the more advanced ranger camps that would be grate.

As for ranger camps healing BF by it self, if it was only at the same rate as a PC medic enter heals BF then I se no problem with it, especially not if it was an ability of the master camp.

You can already buff in any camp.

The Battlefatigue can be healed over time in a player city medical center. So I'm really wondering why this is even needed. Maybe at master Ranger (they so need something) but anything lower then that you you will get dabblers. Maybe I'mjust a snob but I still want people to come hear me play instead of just camping.

The outdoorsmen proposal in the ranger forums calls for the same thing, but can only be done in a ranger camp, but with an entertainment module only high end entertainer elite professions can create. Seriously you all should visit the ranger forums. Most if not all the proposals for rangers made, include a way where many classes can benefit at the same time.

So in other words enable the entertainment camps you speak of where both entertainers and rangers are just as valuable, andnecessary to that endeavor, rather than give it all to entertainers, and making rangers even more useless, or vice versa, and lessen an entertainers ability to leave the cantina, that will only be more empty...

Keep the comments coming, folks. Though I wish there were a way to set up a "Yes" / "No" / "undecided/no opinion" poll so that the Correspondent could keep the results straight. Given that there isn't, please try to give me at least a "lukewarm yes" or "lukewarm no" or "no opinion."

i have very mixed feelings on this and i guess for now i would say no. If this were back at launch when ent numbers were higher i'd say it'd prolly be ok but i think it would empty the cantina's and make the cry for npc ents even louder in the current state.
