Yes, the dance is broken . . . sigh


What a waste of my time on TC and my morning. I failed the second audition before finding out that the dance was broken. I'm not bothering with it. I personally don't see the sense in it.


My regards to Tiaga, Panthu and NewJedi. I don't know if they knew and weren't allowed to say or if the devs overlooked them again . . . . but I think either way, it a crappy place to be put in.

I just want to make sure I got this straight...


-the quests are live, but there's no mention of them in today's (or any recent) patch notes? Lack of Communication with the community

-the quest rewards still cost 400k xp? Not listening to the community that, in NJ's thread, the majority said should be removed

-and the dance is still broken? Lack of Quality Assurance despite many reporting this problem on TC

I got some unofficial rumblings, but nothing I was permitted to pass on here. I still wasn't sure it was going Live this week until I saw this thread.


Panthu and I did repeatedly pass along player concerns to the devs, viaa variety of channels. For Musician, the main concern was what most players feel is an unduly high XP requirement. For Dancers, it was that plus the more basic issue of the broken base dance. I'm not surprised the devs didn't budge on the XP requirement: I believe they see this as a model for late-game play for most elite professions eventually, as it already is for the FS quests and FRS ranking system. But it would be far better for you to hear it from them rather than from me. As for the dance, the same problem obviously infects Formal and Lyrical, and it seems to be related to server load and other mysteries of the internet. Again, it sure would be better if the devs would explain the problem to the players.

It would be even better if, since theyknow it is a problem, they didn't give us a dance that looks bad because of the problem until theyfix the problem.


And regarding the experience... a little math will quickly show you this model will unduly penalize us for content. Looking at the caps for a few professions:


Dancer/Musician 900K
Combat 900K
Doctor 80K


Now... even assuming the doctors have to cap their exp to trade it in for something, that's what, a couple minutes in Coronet buffing people? And we all know it takes no time to cap out an elite weapon skill (3 hours tops in a "solo group".) Yet it's OK for us to have to spend hours and hours and hours. I mean, we're all AFK anyway right? /sigh

CONFIRMED!


The Quest has hit Live!


I and many others on Naritushave started the quest.


An hour ago I finished my 3rd concert and received the schematic to the Western song (first on my server maybe? ).


Brace yourselves (ready Warryyr?)


The XP requirement has NOT been changed!


It is still 400k XP!


I can personally vouche for this.

Well I tried to audition on Eclipse, and as soon as I set foot on the stage it said "FAILURE: You have left the stage before the audition was complete". I submitted a bug report. *sigh* Now I must wait until tomorrow night to try again.

I hit a bug on TC wher the front edge of the stage is not considered to be "onstage".. There may be other dead spots. I /bug ed them there, but nothing has changed from when they went up in its final version on TC a month ago.

Looks right, except the last part. There is no way they could not have known that dance was bugged with us shouting at them. They knew and they shipped it anyway.
