People actually hate one of the most used things in the ENTIRE game?
/sigh. Isn't that the problem? A single buff-bot can service almost an entire server.

Buffbot discussion thread. Because the debate can get rather heated, and repeats things that have been said numerous times before, I will direct you to that thread which will hopefully shed light on this issue for you.

Well--good on you for doing all of this anti-buffbot work. Seriously.
I'm too much of a chicken to get more than vaguely passive-aggressive when the issue comes up. I mean, my guild uses a buffbot, and she's the alt of someone who (a) co-runs the guild and (b) is an extremely nice person who's never been anything but kind to me . . . makes it hard to be confrontational about this issue.
But I think my unwillingness to be confrontational certainly undermines my right to complain. Sigh. Hopefully that recursive macro thing will happen at, you know, some point.

As far as Eloran goes . . . I am in complete and total opposition to his "methods" of dealing with buffbots and he knows it. Too many live ents and innocent players have been slain inthe wake of his Dark Jedi luring. A couple of newer entertainers now refuse to go back to the MO because of this stunt. It's not funny, it's not effective and all it does is make live entertainers look even worse in the eyes of other players. El isn't even and ent anymore.

Another highlight to the buffbot problem was on Dathomir last night on eclipse.
Buff bot in operation. Plus some ents ( didn't know who was live at the time ). Greeted em until I found a live one and watched her. She was dancing exotic 3 or 4 and had master musician tag up. So I asked for a buff. Got buffed quicker and with more entertainment than the hoards going to the bot.

Buffing should be made interactive, requiring semi-intelligent behavior on the entertainer's part. How to do this? I dunno, maybe have the system give you random flourishes to do. I understand the problem with AFK buff bots, and agree the problem should be remedied. They take away customers from live entertainers trying to make an in game living with entertainment.
as for AFK grinding, diff subject, but anyways... I don't care about AFK grinding. Grouping with AFK entertainers does not hurt you other than not having someone in your group that's gonna socialize (it does help your own XP if you're not a master, or getting xp for the quest, or getting FS xp.) I'm AFK grinding myself in addition to sitting at the keyboard. I did master ent and music and launch, and I was AFK only for bathroom and runs to the kitchen. I didn't even use a recursive macros then. I eventually dropped both profs to do other profs. Now I want them back. I'm not going to sit at the keyboard through that grind again.
