Thread: Looking for Cross Server Hosts...
I'd like to extend an invitation for you to come visit the Tempest galaxy. I believe you'll find the experience to be very different from on Bria.
Tempest was one of the two American servers that started on a later date than the original servers, and I think that's led to some of the following observations.
- Tempest still has a small population. I've heard reports of other servers having 150-200 people typically outside the Theed starport. Here we typically have about 20 or so, with fluctuations of course. I don't have numbers on Coronet, but would imagine it's similarly much lower.
- I think because of the small population, and because the early founders of Tempest were very likely groups who chose to move from an older server to start anew, we have a very self-policing community. I've seen some other servers where people don't pay much attention to what others do. Here on Tempest, if, say, you were to come into the cantina and start harrassing one of the entertainers, you'd likely get visits from various combat characters ready to beat you down, as well as get a thrashing on the forums. (This goes for non-entertainer faux pas as well). Similarly, we have a lot of praise and love for those who treat us right
. - Thankfully, we have not been as affected by the buffbot problem as some other servers seem to be. At the risk of a buffbot seeing this and getting an idea, I'm happy to say I've never seen a buffbot in the Theed cantina. There are, of course, buffbots in the galaxy, but we've been lucky to not has as many as other servers seem to, so far.
I think we're a decently healthy server
I'll be happy to be your host. I know a decent amount of entertainers that hang out in Theed (the Theed cantina is probably between 10% and 75% atk typically), and I know of some of the well known places in the galaxy. There could be more knowledgeable hosts out there for Tempest, but I haven't seen many of us posting on the Musician forum. I'm going to be away from the game till at least after this weekend (real life move), but I'd be happy to host you sometime after that!

I would be glad to host on Bloodfin but... I don't know if there is any point to visiting..
I don't need a "point". I am visiting to experience other servers and meet new people. The people who have dropped in on Bria are the greatest. I figured by doing the same, I can meet some other great people, on their own server.
Alot of people don't read the boards or attend cross server events. So I figure, I have to go to where these people are. I'd love to drop in on Bloodfin or any server for that matter. So, unless there is some reason for NOT visiting... I'll be dropping in.
Cross-ServerEntry #1: Lowca
Well, I have just returned from Lowca. Starting out in my newbie clothing brought back memories. To think I once thought there clothes looked good... (Have the shirts always been this grey??) Fortunately, I caught up with my guide, Geddy, soon enough andwas supplied with two wonderful outfits. Unfortunately, the Server Boundry Monster has no fashion sense. He ate my clothes and left me back in my newb rags. Despite this complication, the tour continued as scheduled. Ravenmist, Geddy and myself traveled to the various Cantinas of Corellia. We saw *CENSORED*, Ub-ick's cantina in Honor's Keep. And The Poor Krayt (Not sure of exact name), which was a virtual treasure trove of rare items. Seeing both these excelently decorated establishments reminded me of all the buildings I know of on Bria, that I've taken for granted for so long. We headed north into the Agrilat Swamp. Ravenmist won, twice. I guess I am a better musician than a swoop racer... Ah well. Next we headed over to Naboo to view an excelently decorated Wedding Chappel, before heading on to Tatooine for yet another race. We flew out to the new Mos Espa Track. Ravenmist won again. All in all, it was a great way to start of my first cross server experience (despite losing my clothes and being accused of being a wookie...).

Anyways, after this first visit,Doasa's wanderlust has only increased. It's a whole nother universe out there, and he has set out to see it, one galaxy at a time. Where he will stop next? That's for you to decide. Drop a name, server here and sit back and wait. Then before you know it, a Twi'lek will appear in Mos Eisly, looking for a good time and good people.
Thanks for all the interest so far. Stay tuned to see where Doasa turns up next.
Cross-ServerEntry #2: Tempest
As I write this, I have just come back from a vist to the Tempest Galaxy. My guide Scipionus, directed me to a street party in Theed, located right outside the cantina. Although, I have experienced my fare share of these on Bria, this one was different in a variety of ways. First of, there was no lag. Theed without lag, what is the galaxy coming to. With this wonderful respite, I knew right from the get go, things would be different. That is when I arrived at the cantina, to meet as diverse acrowd of entertainers, as I have seen. Introductions were made and I spent several minutes playing Starwars1 solo on the Slitherhorn (Oh the agony!). I finally decided my welfare was more important then that of my new found friends (...What can I say? I am selfish.) and Isubsequently joined the group. Luckily for them, they had a Mandovial player... so it wasn't that bad... even with me on theslitherhorn. I continued to hone my musical skills. Unfortunately, soon after, myhost, Scipionus had to leave. I was left alone in my ugly newb clothes in a crowd of total strangers. As if I need a better excuse to have fun. From Vennoch, our group leader, to Asti, the local village idiot, I met the most wonderful people. JuneStar, who called me a "potty mouth" and banished all who opposed her to the "corner" was quite a character. Mo'Ste who trained me and made me a quality fizzz, and his wife Marina. There was Poha, who also has dreams of intergalactic travel. He wanted to come to Bria of all places.Garon, Akale and Jocelynn; everyone one of my group mates was most hospitable and I had a great time. Sure, it wasn't Bria, but despite being far from home, this great group of individuals made me feel at home. By the end of the night, we all decided we were "rabid" entertainers. This is why we were forced to perform in the streets. Good times, great people and entertainment so good, it made folks foam at the mouth. What more can onTwi'lek ask for?

Again, I'd like to thank everyone who has helped my traveling dreams reach such galactic proportions. I shall be stopping back into Lowca and Tempest from time to time. They both merit return visitsI could never have done this without wonderful hosts. This is where you come in, if you don't play on Bria... and I know despite Bria being huge, most of you don't, there is still alot more galaxies out there, and this Twi'lek plans to visit anywhere that will have him. So if you don't mind listening to one newbs rythyms of Starwars1 for a bit, meeting someone new and swapping stories, maybe you can help me out. Drop a name, server and ideal time/date. You're galaxy may just be where Doasa ends up next.
Geddy, Scipionus, I thank you both for your interest. You both brought me to new horizons and opened my eyes to where you live. Thanks for everyone else's intertest. This is Doasa Arsim, seeing the world, one galaxy at a time.
I apologize again for having to leave so soon after you arrived. I felt bad leaving, but I knew you'd be in good hands. I look forward to a return visit, and would like to show you around the galaxy a little bit (maybe even with a stop at my own (still-unfinished) cantina
Thank you for your kind words, on behalf of everyone you mentioned, and I'll see you around!
