Unfortunately, the answer to why we can't self-buff is...

you shoud be able to buff yourself

I PROPOSE - a npc mission for a schematic for an arhitech to make you a mirror. have it so only master musician / dancers can use this mirror.

by using this mirror you should be able to buff youself. maybe you could add a mirror onto droid u have and be able to use it like a doc uses surgical droids. or be able to place it around you in areas like when you play an omnibox.

account cancelled... ironicaly it ended exactly 1 year after it was purchased.july 25th.
pushing back the combat rebalance- and not fixing a core game system is the worst idea soe ever conceived.
- still hoping the dev team will get replaced and the game i once loved will get fixed. fix the core game, and problems.stop nerfing everything thats fun. stop doing things noone in the player community asked for!! listen to your customers damnit!!!

Oh please, a mirror?

Look, I take RL classes in dance. Why? Because it's fun. I ENTERTAIN myself. It doesn't take a mirror to get satisfaction from dance which makes about as much sense as entertainer buffs in the first place.

Musician is even simpler. You hear what you play don't you?

I agree wholeheartedly even though I've never been a musician persay beyond Master Entertainer... this makes way too much sense.

Hey, wats up??

This proffession, along with dancers are getting SCREWED!

We can not buff ourselves.....doctors can buff themselves yet we cant.
We can heal our own mind wounds and BF, yet we can not buff ourselves.

I say we put a stop to this, let the DEVs hear musician out for once, LET OUR PEOPLE BE FREE TO BUFF THEMSELVES!

pisses me off when i see a doctor/tka go out and kill stuff without using any HAM, and not really having to use any spice//food/drink.
but i as a rifleman/musician cant go buff myself and kick ass..... why not!

comon people >GET YOUR VOICES HEARD< in your macro, put in sumthing about us not being able to buff ourselves, or sumthing that will grab the DEVs attention.

and that is my 2 cents, back to playing songs i guess

I'd have to disagree with this idea. It'd create a new flavor of the month pointed towards musicians and dancers. Any class so far that's gotten any attention has been nerfed to some extent. Think about it... dancers and musicians getting nerfed lol. If you want the buffs to remain as is, don't attract any developer attention to us.

Even if we could buff ourselves, I seriously doubt we would become "flavor of the month." The points invested simply wouldn't beworth the ability to self-buff, now with the food/drink.

If they gave us the buffs, the devs wouldn't have to worry about us at all for a long time. sure,perhaps afk'ers should get some attention, but this is far more important.

ok guys...the devs have made a previous post saying that they are working on it, but its hard to program...apparently harder than a docs buff...idk why...just is...but either way...its not cause they have forgotten about us or hate us...they just dont know how to fix it...or atleast thats what it sounded like...idk the post was made a long time ago....

I just asked about this, for the umpteenth time, about 30 seconds ago in the Correspondent Forum. The devs are active in the thread in question, so maybe I'll get an answer.

Yes, the rationale the devs gave me a while back was that the mechanics of the Musician buff make it harder to apply it to the performer. You don't normally /listen to yourself, and you don't normally /stoplisten to yourself either. Those are the commands that trigger the buff. I can't imagine it's a gargantuan coding hurdle to overcome, but it's apparently not nearly as simple as it is for a doctor.

Anyway, I have taken another run at them on this, and I'll report back if I get an answer -- I hope within a week or so.

Doctors jab enhancement stims into their own arms to buff themselves. But the whole concept behind dancers and musicians buffing someone is based on the target being entertained by your performance. You can't get entertained by your own performance. You aren't thinking about how nice this dance or song is when you're performing, you're concentrating on your performance.

Regardless of how convenient it would be to buff yourself, it's too unrealistic. I hope they never allow dancers and musicians to buff themselves.
