Thread: Wrong buff applied
I told them to /stopl but hard as they sometimes stop b4 end as no clear indication when buff finished
Will 'monitor'
Were they listening or watching to any other entertainers?
Tell them to do /stopl and /stopw before they listen to you. Then not to watch any other dancer or listen to any other musician.
May be worth reading my guide in the entertainer forum, or getting them to (if they are having problems)
I'm the only musician in a cantina of dancers and they had just entered, but will try and remember to tell them to stop 1st.
Thanks for help

I'm sorry but whilst it annoys me when SoE release stuff without either fully testing it or with certain logical concepts missing (like a lack of an intuitive interface for buffing for the buffer and recipient) I have played this game long enough not to get stressed about it every time.
For all the problems, for all the whinging I do, for all the money I pay when it comes down to it SWG is just a game. It is fun but in the grand scheme of things I have far more important things to get stressed about. For that reason I tend to be light hearted about such things.
I do understand though people getting stressed and without people 'kicking off' for example then crafters would be getting a 10% increase in resource quality rather than the 1% or 2% they have got.
btw See there is a hotfix scheduled for mid-day today ... what glaring error in the patch did they miss this time?

Hehe.. you don't really think they plan to tweak or debug our buffs anymore, I hope. Now that they are on Live, they are a done deal as far as the Devs are concerned. We had our major content addition for this year, we won't get any more Devattention any time soon.
Which, I might add, is also how it works for the rest of the game. Any bugs that are introduced with new content take a long time to be adressed, and then only if enough people complain about it for long enough.

Refunds? I think not - folk tip me after the buff has taken place if they then go and do something silly and lose the buff then it's no refund but I will gladly buff again. As I always ask people simply to tip whatever they consider appropriate it is up to the person getting the buff applied again whether or not they admit they lost the buff due to their error or not.
The players need to be educated about the new buffing system and how if you want a profession specific buff you must not watch or listen to any other performer other than the one providing your buff (and if you watch or listen to one after you got the buff it will be replaced by the general buff).
Also, they need to give the person getting the buff an accept/decline option just like with ID. If I want to merchant buff you, you should get a popup saying I am trying to buff and asking if you accept. If so, you get the buff. If not, you can keep /listening and /watching but no buff is applied. That way there are no mistakes.

And the worst part about it is its not our fault, nor the patrons' fault.
Its just the system is too confusing, subject to error, and byzantine to work the way we need it to.
Buffing is too serious a matter to be lighthearted about.

Precisely.
I endured a massively buggy system of buffing pre-CU, and I simply will NOT accept a system that's far too confusing for the customer, and doesn't work right.
This needs to WORK, work well, and it NEEDS to be intuitive and not interfere with the concept that a cantina should be a relaxing place.
Nobody can relax when you're trying multiple times to get the buff right.
For example, the "Did they /stopwatch or /stoplisten?" questions are far too reminiscent of pre-CU. I don't want to deal with that garbage again. Make it work, make it work right, and as we've asked for God knows how long, make the process more OBVIOUS to people.
