Thread: The Ultimate Macro
I don't really like to play AFK. But if you're in a PA or some such and need to provide healing while grabbing dinner or what not, here's a macro that will help. What it does is loop and allow for outside healers in your PA to keep you going.
/startmusic jazz; /flo 1; /flo 2; /pause 30; /startmusic jazz; /flo 3; /flo 4; /pause 30; /starmusic jazz; /flo 5; /flo 6; /pause 30; /starmusic jazz; /flo 7; /flo 8; /pause 30; /ui action toolbarSlot00
If you play long enough and run out of action you stop playing. Well, if you're helping your PA, and they forget to heal you. This lets them get you up and running without a wait of more than 30 seconds. The /startmusic line doesn't hurt your playing, but it will start you in case you get healed after you're forced to stop playing from exhaustion. So as long as they heal you, you will play indefinitely.
I doubt a PA needs 24 hour coverage for healing, they have to be out killing things sometime don't they?
Nice macro tho, i'm making a note for when times are tight and I have to rent myself out to the corporation for credits.
Just a quick question... I made my first of these so called looping macros...
It works well enough. What I'm wondering is how to stop it. I stop playing and the macro still runs on and on. Only way I've be able to stop it is to edit the /ui line out and re-run the macro.
Any thoughts?

thats why i make the macro a button then delete the button when i want to stop and when it finishes running it calls the button and doesn't start again
will this work for any slot in the toolbar? And if so, is the last line "/uiactiontoolbar 000" or
/ui action toolbar 000"
or "/ui actiontoolbar000" etc.... can you clarify this please?
Brakiss,
Yes, this'll work for any slot on the toolbar... the command is
/ui action toolbarSlot00
where the 00 can actually be any number from00 to 23, corresponding to slots 1 through 24. ![]()
This is quite possibly the most awesome command you can use in a macro... I hope to G0d the devs dont nerf it lol
Nice macro.. one extra thing tho. Might want to add /join at the beginning of the macro as well, in case the group gets disbanded for one reason or another. That way if you get reinvited while afk, you auto join the group. My 2 creds.
If you go afk (for long periods of time)while using a repeating macro, I think you should be shot.
I only use them because I like to have the oportunity to chat with people without missing a beat. It doesn't bother me if you have to answer the phone or take a bio or snack break. It does bother me when people leave their char's on for hours on end, afk and dancing or beebopping away on their kloo horn.
Just my opinion.....
I've tried to play and play without using a macro but, the songs are stuck in my brain! When I'm able I will play for hours as a live musician. I love the role and have only run into a couple of afk folks who join in a group for a LONG period of time without florishing. I myself have written a few songs as macros so I too can chat and what not during play. Otherwise I'd go mad! I have no problem with macros or people who use them. I'd prefer it if afk'ers would step away from the main band. With bandflo though, you can make them play however you want unless they are running a macro hehe. I tried that last night and it worked well on the bandmembers but I was out of sync with them. Strange?
/bandflo doesn't overwrite any pending /flos, Meaning, if I type /flo and then you fo a /bandflo, I won't execute the /bandflo until my current /flo is done. Also, a lot of performers /bandflo off to save action points.
I played LIVE until I got novice musician but by that time the music was so **edit** repetitive I was about to go insane. I'm now macro'ng just to get up the tree a bit higher and get a better music selection. I mean come on.. 3 starwars? If they added more music into the line it would make it less painful. Its pretty bad when i'm sitting in a meeting and I start humming star wars under my breath.
Once I get a bandfill, no more afk for me. ![]()
btw, best way to run a macro is to run 2 of them.
first macro,
/flo 1;/pause 6 ..... ;/flo 8;/pause 6;/ui action toolbarSlotXX
second macro,
/pause 300;/pause 300;/pause 300;/stopmusic;/pause 12;/sit;/pause 180;/stand;/pause 12;/startmusic starwars3;/ui action toolbarSlotYY
Hit the first macro, then the second. You can macro for hours with this. I added in /tell's in the 2nd one so I know where its at in case I come back. This is also nice when i'm forced to clean house. lol
