Something odd occured to me today on Bloodfin.

Somehow 3 people not in my group but watching me received a 2 hour duration buff, while was doing a /setperform on someone not grouped with them.

I had started buffing this one person singly, he was ungrouped but i didnt invite him so i start to buff him using /setperform

Three grouped people come in and ask if they can get a buff i said yes when i finish with this person. They said ok. My buff timer alarm goes off, so i ask the guy i was orginally buffing to stop listening. He ends up with an 8 Minute duration buff...thats right 8 minutes. SO i think hmmm something messed up there i tell the guy i will retry in 8 minutes when the timer expires. In the meantime i tell the other three to invite me to their group, the leader of the group tells me HAHA i already got buffed thanks! So did his three groupmates..and all they were doing was listening OUTSIDE Of my group...not once was i grouped with these three. But somehow the guy i was orginally buffing only ended up with an 8 minute buff but the three other guys ended up with a full 2 hour duration max buff.

Somthing very wrong going on here. Especially if the /setperform command is not working...this was put in place in addition to /denyservice so i could choose who to buff and who not to....appears its not working the way it should and those three people shouldnt have gotten any kind of buff from me by just listening while not grouped with me.

I will try today to reproduce this particular bug, maybe it was just a one time weirdo thing. But i think the devs need to be aware there may be something wrong with it.

It's a bug related to the recent patch........along with doing 150 flo's in 10 mins and receiving a 1 hour buff, doing 150 flo's in 8 minutes getting 30 minute buff......

so on....what a crappy patch for ents

add another screwy thing to the list.

Sometimes...not always mind you when your doing the musician buff while also using a playback droid the patron doesnt get the buff applied until the /stoplisten is done targeting both you AND the droid.

There is no way to /listen to the droid as there is with us however. But its obvious some of the buff bugs we are seeing are related to the new entertainer droids.

Sylune (or do you prefer Ceta?), when you were buffing, did you have your entertainer droid out? Was it playing with you?

I just buffed two group members. One got the full 2 hours while the other just got 22 minutes. No Droids out. Blasted buggy publish.

Here's something weird. A guy was watching me for quite a while while I was in a group w no droid out, not realizing he had to actually ask for a buff. He might have been doing /listen /stoplisten over and over, I don't know. So after he asked about it, I setperformed the guy, and when he did a /stoplisten he didn't get a buff but I got the buff. But it was only for 40 minutes. It was my buff alright, there were no other master musicians in the group. I hadn't done anything to activate the buff, the only action I was doing was just talking to the guy. Just out of nowhere, I saw the buff icons pop up on my screen.

Earlier I had listened to an entertainer in my group, after a guy had given us mind diseases. So I admit I had actually listened to an entertainer, but this was not somebody with mind enhancement skill. There appears to have been some kind of stealth nerf with that routine. One used to be able to get a disease, listen or watch somebody in the group, and everybody would get experience. It seems you won't get experience anymore if you play or dance while diseased.

I did notice we can rebuff people after they die, at least. Don't know when this was fixed, but some guy kept getting killed and coming back to get new buffs from me. I was surprised it worked.

Anyway, there may be a way to exploit ourselves self-buffs! Just have to figure out what the heck is going on.

I was able to reproduce this bug with people getting a buff while not using setperform and being not grouped with them. Both times it was while i had an entertainer droid playing along with me.

Seems this new bug is related to the droid somehow, if i dont use the droid the buff applies with setperform as it should..as well as not giving out a free buff to someone just listening.

Although i cannot give the why's of what may be happening because i was not able to reproduce it each and every time. It seems to be random in some way but it is definately related to the entertainer droids in some fashion or other.

I have also had a case while applying a buff where the willpower buff took, but the focus buff did not. This had my totally perplexed three ways from Monday.

Both times it occured it was when i was by myself using an entertainer droid as a back up member.

I know another musician who knows how to buff, and he gave me 17 minutes buffs when they should have been two hours, twice. Both times, we were grouped and my droid wasplaying with him.

LeBob,

The reason he brought this up is because these new buff bugs appeared at the same time as the new entertainer droids. So far in my experience all the above mentioned buff mess ups occured while using an enterainer droid as a back up member of the group. I have throughly tested without using the bot and have yet to have a buff mess up on me like the above mentioned.

All times that there was short duration...or not buffing both secondaries...or people getting buffs while not doint a /setperform on someone not grouped with us. Have all occured while using the enterainer droid. One other thing to add. I have had a few patrons after being grouped with me while playing with an entertainer droid playing with me who when they stop listening to receive the buff do not receive anything. BUT...i had one customer who was smart and tried something. He didnt get the buff so he targeted the droid and also did /stoplisten while targeting the droid...tada Buff application. Weird huh?

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh

well then I recomend you guys test this:

instead of /stopmusic use /stop (/stopband) that will also make the droid stop, and should fix it.......... maybe they aren't getting the buffs because technically they are still listening to the 'band' playing music i.e. the little disco droid

thanks for filling me in...
