So how are you entertainer guys and girls after the CU? Please tell me...

How does this new Inspiration buff working out for you?

How are customer treating you?

Is the buffbots gone?

How are the cantinas?

Any more you want to tell me?

Keep up the good work all ATK Entertainers!(I remember the old good days. Mos Eisley cantina was a bustling place. Player actually took the time to sit down and relax and enjoy the show. Those where the days... I miss them.)

EDIT:

By the way I have never been an entertainer, but always had big respect for them. The cantina was like a second home for me(the cloner was my real home) the first half year off the game. I met a lot of great perfomers while being there. All of them was verypolite and proud to be an Entertainer. And I remember my thoughs was "cool people get to play social professions and not every one must go and shoot stuff", that was one of the greataspects of this game. I may be wrong(correct me if so) but the devs has "dumbed" down the Entertainer in this game so much. I dont understand why?

The CU and the expansion drove home the fact that entertainers have no place in SWG any longer. Heck, the one place that indicates entertainers even exist in the new expansion, (the treehouse cantina),wasn't even activated so entertainers couldperform there. Entertainers hung in here while the hardcore combat people "went on leave" and our reward for that is to be totally disregarded and tossed aside. The days of the big bands and guest performers are gone. I am curious who will hang in there next time. It was fun while it lasted. This CU-SWG is a new game that is not the old SWG. Its a pure combat game and an entertainer now has to bend to give the illusion of fitting in instead of actually feeling like they belong. I personally find it unenjoyable and find myself not logging on much anymore. Our award winning PA hall will become a temple of what once was a great entertainer friendly environment.

Sad to hear that my friend...

I still cant get it... why scrap one of the mostground breaking professions in a MMORPG ever? I mean sure it was Bards in other mmorpgs, but they was not even close to what Entertainer profession was in SWG. The first really "all social profession " ever. I think the idea was great.

Sure the buffbots had its share to drive out the Entertainers out off the game too... but the Devs allowed this to happen so I really blaim them more than those having bots. Why did the Devs allow this to go this far? And not even once have they given you the Love(except some new songs/dances, but that really doesnt help if the rest of the game play for the Ents are borked.).

Last night I performed at what was usually one of the largest and busiest entertainer events, for most of the night I was the only entertainer on stage. Only a handful of people came and it really didn't make any difference if any entertainers were there since no one could listen to us because of the /watch/listen bug.

As a triple entertainer master I have virtually no combat skills, level 10 only. I was incapped twice just trying to go to my house for a change of clothes. The new expansion is so totally combat oriented so that there is absolutely nothing in it for me. I have a huge number of skill points tied up in abilities that don't even exist in the game anymore. The reduced group size makes it almost impossible to put on any of the performaces we used to do regularly. And this doesn't even include the large list of issues that have plagued entertainers since the game went live.

I've also hardly played lately. It's just no fun anymore, and it actually makes me depressed to log in and see what has become of the game I have spent mosttwo year's worth of free time on. Most members of my band Nebula have left, so it's hardly possible to set up a gig with more than 3 or 4 people anymore. We used to have a dozen entertainers at shows a year ago. Not that this would even be technically possible anymore, heh.

And apart from the many many issues that plague entertainers, the reason for all of this - the blasted combat upgrade - is crap as well. This is of course purely subjective, but I hate it. Solo play is dead, and as a lvl 54 pikeman you're the first to getkilled in a group. And I absolutely refuse to take up a ranged profession just because it's FOTM currently.

So the combat part of my game was pretty much killed by the so-called combat upgrade, the entertainer community is drawing it's last shuddering breath, and apart from that, there's nothing to do for me anymore.

Thats really ****** up. How can they implent a whole new system to Live and not even think about theconsequence for all the Non-Combat players. Thats just weird. Ok if the Upgrade includedallprofessions. But why should some players get screwed just so other players can have all the fun(and not even those players have fun)?

I feel with you all. Spend so much time in a game and never get anything back. Just get "Wait...soon" from the devs. I guess SOE have showed with this CU, where the game is heading. Sad ... really really sad...

I know what you mean, it is depressing to log on. I been in this game for two years and its totally changed and not the same game anymore, except for the bugs. The bugs have multiplied and the crash bug is particularly annoying. Windows XP was the most stable platformintill SWG got ahold of it. SWG is the only program that has ever caused a blue screen fatal crash on my system. (Thats besides the normal crashes). Sure we don't slide out of our chairs anymore but don't sit on the floor behind the nal to change or you may slide to the front of the stage naked. As Rav said, the small group sizes has changed our way of life. To me it's the final straw. I am just so sick and tired of playing the "wait and see game", only to see things get worst. I no longer believe anyone saying things are going to get better. Maybe that goes for combat people but doesn't apply to me, a non combatant. It sure was a cool idea though and I did enjoy the RP aspects till they screwed them up too. Like everyone else, I saw the great potential this game could have had and it took much longer then it should have for me to lose hope, but I have now. I hope to get a few more good times if I can in my last few weeks of SWG.

I have cancelled my accounts... but I still love thebasic idea of Star Wars as a mmorpg and if SWG ever change tobe the ultimate STAR WARSmmorpg experience again I will jump on thetrain again.

The entertainer system and the crafter system (pre CU) was really ground breaking and should never been "dumbed" down as it is now(post CU). The space part of the game should have been there at the release. The CU should not been hazed out like it was now. We didnt ask for a completly new game with parts of the community professions total useless(and thats even more than pre CU).

How can such a great idea become such amess?

And they got tons of info on Star Wars from the movies and books and other games...why throw the cannon out the window? Is it so hard to follow?

Well If thereever will be another Star Wars MMORPG I will be there... See you there....(Hope they take it moreserious than these " We bend for the powerplayers" Devs.)

Sorry ... but to see that they are failing to makeSWG fun and true to the SW movies and on top of that screwing the social player group in this RPG makes me mad.... mad and sad....

EDIT:

The reason why I pre ordered SWG back in 2003 was to play in the Star Wars universe with other players and RP that we were there and living the **** thing.

And I was on the pre release boards(starting reading them 2002)and posting... heard so many cool ideas. A couple of these ideas was to have non combatants as a playble thing. I thought "wow this a real mmoRPG, if someone dont wish to fight they shouldnt and they can still play this game". Well I guess I was wrong. SOE should take out the RPG out off MMORPG and add ppcg... mmoppcg...massive multi player power player combat game...

I remember back when I was playing Star Wars MUD:s... the immersion was 110% bigger with only text to play with. Do the right thing SOE bring back the STAR WARSin SWG and the RPG in MMORPG!

The CU was way overboard. All anyone ever asked for is balance, not a redesign of the whole game into something that is unrecognizable. Then you don't do something to try to bring the combat people back that riuns what is left of your client base.

How does this new Inspiration buff working out for you? It is not working out very well for me. Not due so much to the fact that double xp is in effect right now as that players are not clamoring for experience. SWG was never a game about getting to the highest level you could, it was the adventures you had afterwards. The faction buff is nice for Armorsmiths and Smugglers, but no one else outside Jedi grinders has really been too enamored.

How are customer treating you? They try to invite me to their groups still, and they yell at me when they get the "you stop listening to Leilani because you are too far away," bug. It's not my fault!

Is the buffbots gone? There are less, certainly, but in fact I have seen a greater decrease in ATK Entertainers than AFK ones since our abilities have been stripped.

How are the cantinas? Less busy. Battle Fatigue is relatively meaningless at the moment, and many of my friends walk around with 1000 BF just for not wanting to "waste" the time in a Cantina. I can unfortunately sympathize.

Any more you want to tell me? Thank you for coming by with friendly words. We all appreciate them greatly!

Keep up the good work all ATK Entertainers! Always.
