Thread: The /rap command

Does anyone know if the Devs plan to fix the /rap command? It's been broken since a patch or two before the CU. About half of my songbook made use of the /rap command, and I've since had to go back into all my songs and change them to /sing. When I try to to /rap, it thinks I'm trying to do Rapid Fire.


Is there another command that replaced /rap of which I am unaware?

I know several people have reported it with /bug and I hope others will. I seriously doubt that there was an intention to remove it.

I believe it's /rapidfire, one of the new carbineer specials. [My character is a carbineer as well as a musician.]

I am not 100% sure of this, though.

I tried it last night and /bugged it when it told me I lack the skill to "rapid fire", I'll try /raps.

/raps returns the "no mood, command or chat type" error.

Hm. Try these two random things, based purely on speculation on my part based on speculation on others' part for other buts.

1) Do "//rap blah"
2) Alias rap like so: "/alias rap /rap" and then use /rap blah.

Also the command /hand, the one that kisses someone on the hand is gone.

Maybe I'm mistaken.


I've also bugged the /rap thing, there's no reason to have this gone. Of course, in the perpetual beta state of this game, I'm sure it'll be thrown at the bottom of the list. Even so, I'll add it to my daily /bug chores.


I've yet to actually SEE the text box over the NPC's head, but there is also some chat type that has an issue - I've seen many NPC's in my chat box say something like, "You there! What are you saying here?" an Aakuan Champion ERROR, full of self-assurance.


I've never actually seen the floating text box above their head, so I can't figure out which chat type is making it say ERROR. I'm wondering if this is a symptom of what happened to /rap. I know the NPC's used to occasionally use /rap. Which always gave me a good chuckle.

My previous speculations on how to make it work don't work.

However, you can put a period after the word rap to make it work. For example,
"/rap. Alright stop, collaborate and listen"

If the command for kissing a hand is indeed /hand and it's not working because it's now mapping to some other command, presumably the same idea will work.

I don't remember the kiss on the hand command right now, however if it was /hand, chances are the entire command was /handkiss. Try that (or /handk). There are other commands that use /hand to start. /handshake comes to mind.

Related, but not unexpected, was that all my /bandflouish songs that I had coded with "/b" for bandflourish had to be fixed. Now "/b" is for "/bactashot". I love how "Non-combat professions will not be affected by the CU".
