Why is it that we Musicians and Dancers cannot mind buff oursleves? Docs can buff themselves. It is terribly unfair! I mean I am not only a musician but a novice pistoleer and novice TKA and I hunt with my guild. I buff the guild but end up being the only one without a mind buff. Sigh.

Because that would be overpowered. The dev team realizes that dancers and musicians are way overpowered now even after the nerf in patch 8. Expect more nerfs soon.

Seriously, they're nerfing merchants for crying out loud. What would make anyone think that any profession is going to get much in the way of good things anytime soon?

Well Jedi is getting good stuff I guess they never imagined that a musician or dancer would wand to take part in combat.

/sarcasm
I think they have run out of ideas on how to improve Jedi, so now they are nerfing all other professions to make Jedi look even better with out having to improve it.

it would make dancer/musician a lot more popular right now if they could mind buff themselves... but with the HAM reworking it might be less important.

I would love to be able to mind buff myself, but I don't expect they'll ever do it.

While it would be nice, I hope your friends understand why your not "pulling your weight"...aka not pulling specials out left and right with no heed or care in the world...however it is probably easiest for us to get dancer buffs or musician buffs anytime we want, especially at the master level...just waltz into a cantina and you get invited to the troupe.

The combat revamp may indeed diminish the importance of this, but fornow it is still annoying. I think a self-buff would make our profession much more attractive to some combat players, which in turn would reduce some of the complaints that entertainers are hard to find. I'm all for it. It's been on our top-five list, and it was the subject of one of our recent questions to the devs.

We've had a variety of explanations for why there can't be a self-buff. The first explanation I got, months ago, was that it was technically awkward to implement since we don't /stoplisten or /listen to ourselves, and /stoplisten is the trigger. A second more recent explanation was that a self-buff would give us double XP, since buffing confers a bit of XP on the buffer. A third explanation is that it's just a design call. A fourth possibility is that a self-buff is coming, just not for a while. So who knows.

I know, NJ . . . I get so much useout of the xp I receive for buffing . . . /sigh

I couldn't fill a thimble with the amount of knowledge I have regarding game design, however I consider myself to be a fairly intelligent person. Of all these 'excuses' the only one that makes 'sense' to me is that it's a design call. At least that one is most truthful. We can target ourselves, we can ID ourselves, we can heal ourselves, but we can't buff ourselves because of the way the buff was 'designed'.

My own guess is that the devs are mostly reluctant to tinker with the rather fragile buff code, especially with a combat revamp coming anyway. But that's just a guess.

And that is fine . . . understandable even. Now, if we could only get them to admit it instead of coming up with insultingly ridiculous excuses like, "you'd get too much healing XP". . . . .

Easy solution... give master musicians and dancers and permanent buff of thair own kind It would not be that unbalancing and would be better combat wise the little bit of range/melee defence.

Pretty good idea.

Dakk AFLAC has a ton of entertainers, you ever really far away from any of the other masters in your guild? =). If so, send Nikiro a tell, I'll come buff ya

I too see know reason why we cannot buff ourselves. I mean...we can heal our BF and Mind wounds, why not buff ourselves? I mean it wouldnt even be close to unbalancing things out...oh know, the gimp musician can buff his mind now...hehe

Let us listen toour own droids, but only our own droids. We'd need somebody to /bandflo for us to be worth it. You'd have masters tipping novices.

What about dancers? I always thought LE repair or protocol droids should already know poplok.
