Thread: A new place to sell buffs: the village

I finally finished that damn quest where you drive in circles for hours and hours. It's the combat one, man O mantook me three buffing sessions to do it all. Anyway, I decided I like this village. Just looking at those trees I can easily see it taking me six months to unlock a new slot, but that's okay. I always thought that it would be good to use excess exp somehow. I ended up with so many of those crazy resources that don't stack, I had to buy a house to store it all. Everybody seems to think it'll be needed to craft starships.

Anyway, I noticed a lot of doctors hang around the village buffing people for free, either for quests or just grinding exp. I know a lot of entertainers complained there was no cantina there, but suprisingly, I heardmany non-entertainerplayers complaining the same thing. Seems some people will just log in and out there and look for buffs without having to travel. I got stopped and asked to play quite a few times; luckily I can build crappy camps.

SO before I was busy questing in the village. I'm thinking of going backsoley to jam. It's not for experience, I get way more back in Theed. Just to sell buffs. Honestly, there's few places on my server (Flurry) I can set up my droid and sell buffs anymore. There's usually two or three bots for everybig city cantinas, and there was even one in the science outpost.

It'd be my dream gig, if I had unlimited points.I'd get a custom barker droid with dancing jawas and a playback track. Can't forget master ranger for the cool camp. I'd set it up just outside town, a camp in the fog would rule.

Course, people are still conditioned to pay me nothing right now, so I won't make much. But I may try this when the new quests go live, and I'm wanting a bunch of people to listen to me in a short amount of time.

Ah, I was wondering how you were going to buff in the village since we get no droid like Medics. I wonder what the 'municupal zone' radius of the Village is. I should try that tonight. 'Course no one ever seems to want just Musician buffs. I think once I've opened up my second slot and can make a combat monkey, I'll go back to being a pure entertainer. I only couldn't stand it when it was all I could do.

Do our buffs work in the village? I've done a little music buffing in the Science Outpost, but I'd just assumed that it wouldn't work at the village. Doh, I guess I should actually *try* it, eh?

FWIW, I haven't seen anyone dancing or playing music there at all.

I think you missed this part... "...luckily I can build crappy camps." So I think he's just using camps erected outside the village?

Oh, yeah, I did miss that part. I don't have Scout, so I can't build camps, crappy or otherwise.

I did a /find cantina and /find tavern in the Village, and both pointed me to the Science Outpost.

I ran around in all the huts, and couldn't heal myself anywhere, so no healing for us with everybody else.

Yeah, have to have camps. That's why a barker droid would be nice. Maybe I'll just name an FX droid MindBuffs and have it patrol from my camp to the village, back and forth, spamming dancing jawas. I already spoke to a few dancers who wanted to try camping some time outside the village.

Now if only I was a ranger. Simply because their camps are cool. See it's all about stylin.'

Hmm interesting thought - buffing outside of the village that is. Maybe I'll try that myself if I have some free time

Not to put a damper on things but now that the quest rush is over a friend says most people simply run to the village to convert experience to FS points. Thanks to swoops vastly outpacing any enemy I'm not sure how many injured players will actually be near the village now. They aren't going to do most of their experience grinding down there because of the fact there are no facitilities nearby.

Maybe I can recruit a Dancer friend and we could get my buddy to make us a camp, and bark for us in the Village, haha.

Might be kinda fun to hang out in the blue mist and do some Entertaining.

I'm not glowing yet, because I have no combat skills, so I can't do the barking. I'll need to do the Warren and get some other kind of content badges - I'm not a Rebel or an Imperial, so I don't know what to do about that. If I do Jabba's Themepark, Nym's, and the 2 Warren things, I'm still short 1 content badge. Maybe I can tag along on a Corvette mission and play some tunes in the front room until the group's done, haha.

Rest assured, when I do get into the Village, there'll be one omnipresent Wookiee tooting his own horn constantly next to the Village Elder. I don't care about experience or healing xp I guess, I just want SOME kind of Entertainer presence in that place.

It'd be great to have a concert in the Village. Maybe us Starsider Entertainers can band together and have some combat folkslead us through some missions, for badges.

On Tempest, most folks are running rancor missions out of the Dath Outpost, or baznitch missions out of Science Outpost to cap combat, then run down to the village to turn in.

The BUSY days are going to be the first two or three of each phase, which should be coming up next week. That's when everyone will be flocking to the village to unlock the next branch by quest. That'll be your best time to try this all out.

Warryyr...I should be able, theoretically, to get you through a Jabba Destroy Corvette. You stay at the port in point, and I can finish the mission. Just let me know when is a good time...I'll be out of town this weekend, but other than that....

By the way, that goes for any Starsider performerwho doesn't have guildmates to help them out, or whatever. I'll do what I can for you to get you through either the Imperial or Jabba themeparks or destroy Corvettes. I can't do much with the Rebel stuff, unfortunately. I should also be able to help out with Nym's. I'm clueless on The Warren though. I just need to know ahead of time enough that I can disentangle myself from a guild event or whatever.
