I'm a musician in RL. In fact it's my full-time job as welland thats why I started as a scout! The LAST thing I figured I should do is play a game as a musician to get away from my life as a musician, hehe. Well now I'm on my way to mastering musician. I guess some things are just too deeply ingrained to even virtually keep me away for too long.
Actually, the other reason I wanted to start as a scout is that before I started playing the game is seemed to me the whole entertainer thing sounded boring as all heck. "I just stand around and press buttons all day???? How boring!" In actual fact, most of my best times have been spent in the cantinas. Especially if I can roleplay with people. Once an entertainer always an entertainer!
Can't wait for new songs and instruments though. The "being able to write your own songs" thingsounded greatat first toobut I completely agree that I don't want to hear someone latest Britney Spears mockup in the cantinas. Just give us more variations for fourishes and we'll be fine!
Heyo,
I'm the bass trombonist in the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra in Washington DC. I really only did the musician prof after I had a silent holocron. Gotta say, it is more entertaining for me than I thought.
One complaint. All the songs have a small "hitch" after every measure or two that totally disrupts the tempo. Annoying as can be...
For all of you who recognize my name, Tariq Bonghitter, my friend puffpuffpass (recently retired from SWG[way to go devs]) is our orchestra's tympanist.

Classical and jazz piano, acoustic guitar, electric bass, chorus work, even one or two paying gigs in madrigal groups. But keyboards are really my thing. I had a piano teacher who wanted me to try to become a concert pianist. I didn't have the talent to "make it," but it was nice that I had a teacher who thought otherwise. ![]()
I've also dabbled in digital-audio recording. A couple years ago I made "birthday CDs" for a bunch of my relatives, using piano, guitar, and electric keyboards. You can spend a LOT of money on microphones, preamps, mixers, and other DAR toys.
I also have recorded some of Mozart's 21st Piano Concerto using MIDI and SONAR: Ricky on each instrument part, courtsey of my MIDI controller. The Boston Symphony Orchestra has nothing to fear from me.
