ok,
I am a master musician, and I am sick and tired of people putting master Dancer/Musicians afk in public cantina's while they play there alts. While I am live at my keybpoard everyone goes there for buffs while I get no customers, since its on a honor system people dont have to tip the bots, but they are ruining my in game expeirence as well as others that are live at there keyboard.
I am now requesting that this become the number one issue, and help remove AFKers, since being afk makes you NOT playing the game, you shouldnt be rewarded for it.

though i am not an entertainer i do agree, alot of my business as a tailor involves interacting with dancers and musicians, and i've come to really love what these people do as an entertainer. Unfortunately all i see now is afk dancers, and people clapping for them as if they were accually there. Hopefully some day something will be changed about this.

There is a concept under way maybe not to get rid of AFK buff bots but to rather reward those who aren't AFK and the people who use them.

ok this is TOTAL BS. Tonight in theed while in a small group, with us AT Keyboards, people run in, turn the corner and goes STRAIGHT for the buff bot. How the hell is this good? How is this allowed. There is a problem when 5 LIVE people at the keyboard cannot get a chance to entertain while a buffbot steals the show.

I whole heartedly agree with you. Something must be done soon. AFK entertainer buff-bots are destroying the entire game, and just our professions.
Therefor I have already begun a campaign against them. I have sent a question to the knowledge base, a comment to the development team, as well as started a customer service ticket in game. All of which have explained the dire situation and requesting that buff bots be labeled as griefers.
As a somewhat lighter note, I am also working on entertainment performances that bring our plight into view for all players to see. So far I am writing a version "Video Killed the Radio Star", changing it to a filk styled "Macro-bot killed the ATK Star". I haven't gotten anywhere on similar works tho, so any help in this department would be greatly appreciated.
I am considering planning a concert once I have several more songs prepared.
More community members working both similar and different angles are welcome to join this campaign.

I thought it was great. They come to me and I tipped. I'm the main character. Rootbier is my alt.
Wylde, I see something that would make me move.
It's just like my doc. What good are the medical centers ? They aren't any good. Filled with tumblers and pretty hard to find a healer. When I am there healing, it's hard to find tips. And they do absolutely no good for buffs. I give better buffs when I pull my 110 medical rating droid out. Plus a player medical center, I don't follow this one. Just have a cantina, you can heal in your own cantina. My point is, make the player medical centers, cantinas, and theatres worthwhile.
Believe me, I'd rather be in my own city, inside my own medical center or cantina. Instead we have huge buff lines outside starports giving us all spam.
As for my alt, Rootbier, I'd rather be in my own cantina. I really would. Then I could have my own decorations. But there's no reason to have me there now. I get nothing extra for it. They should have it where if you heal in your own med center, you can buff better or heal faster. The same with a cantina or theatre. Make it so the mind buffs last a little longer.
But until something is done about that, I'm keeping my alt, rootbier in theed. I know right now you and I aren't happy with each other, I'll say I'm sorry about that, this is just a game and we are suppose to have fun. I personally think you'd be better off laying off my script, then I'd be willing to work with you. I also see the profession drying up of real entertainers that can buff. There is plenty of money to be made. And it is funny when people can't even tip us 2k for a buff, yet can easily pay 10k for a doc buff. If you start acting professional, and treat me with respect. I would do the same and maybe we could work some out some mutual working arrangement. But long as you mess with my script, I will be pissed.
I'd prefer we work together. And be happy, I'll be out of the cantina most of the day with Rootbier anyhow.

For those setting up Buff Bots, here's a tip.
Make sure in the script you use the disban command. Just add /disban; somewhere in the script, if you are smart you'd put it in the end of the cycle. You don't want to disban in the middle of the buffing session. The disban will keep you from being held hostage.
Also, I get reports from my good friends on who's being a jerk. Once they are reported they are ignored and won't be in my group again.
Also take the time to check in on your bot. I'm on my main character alot. I get stuck at a shuttle or take a breather. I check out to see what he's up to. If I notice any probs or no tips, I quickly rectify that problem.
If you are running a Buff Bot and are running into problems or need help with your script just let me know and I'll help you out.

Thankfully there are 14 day trial accounts. When one is ignored they can recreate.

Hey I am just happy there are people on to dance or play and heal my wounds there are so many times I go into a cantina and no one is there. While I can understand the frustration on people who are live it is also a frustration when you can't find anyone to heal or buff

The problem is that with your buffbot there you show no respect to any of the entertainers. Why should we show any respect to you? You arent even there and steal a lot of the income from real entertainers that have no alts.
It is BS that you people cant find ents to buff you. You dont even bother looking anymore, then because of YOUR buffbpots we dont even get paid for buffing anymore.
Oh and BTW you can keep adding to your /addignore as there is a cap on how many you can have.
And one more thing. If you are going to have a macro while you are afk, somebody else can macro /invite too. Why can you be mad because somebody is doing the same thing you are? Its not like you are actually there playing...
