Hello! I've recently decied to make my alt master musician/master ent. Which is a whole new thing for me seeing as how i've always done combat before. My question is what other classes go well with musician? I was thinking maybe merchant so I could sell insterments, which seems kinda dumb because musicians make there own insturments......anyway there is my question, do any of you have an anwser for me?

Beware my Mandoviol of Death!

Yeah, TK is great. Or, you could try Smuggler if you have the points avialable. Politician is fun too, though

It really depends if you want an all entertainer character and or a non-combat character.
Personally I'm master rifleman, master entertainer, master musician. I keep novice scout and a harvest droid
to fund myself. I enjoy being able to go beat on things occassionally when I need some time away from the music.

Teras-Kasi. That way, you could equip a mandoviol, totally beat some "uber d00d's" arse, and then yell "EL KABONG!" or something to that effect.

I went with perhaps the worst possible choice -- Carbineer. Sigh. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of being a Carbineer, but for the longest time our profession just didn't work right. Now it sort of works right, but even now, how often do you hear someone speak fearfully of uber Carbineers? By contrast, Riflemen are pheared.

Carbineers can be effect even in duels, its just very hard for the carbineer and not very hard for the oppent. I'm also not going to do any combat with this template right now i'm kinda leaning to master music/master ent/master merchant/hairstlying 3. Or i could drop the hairstlying and master merchant and get master tailor and spend the rest of my skill points in some merchant.

I was actually thinking that would be a cool combo as well. I think if I had my druthers (or a 2nd slot), he'd be a master ent, master musician, master tailor, novice ID, and the leftover points up the business tree in artisan so I could have a vendor.

Merchant could be fun in that you can enjoy the idea of having an instrument shop, but you'll most likely not get a lot of business, since as you said we make our own instruments and we're usually willing to help out someone who needs one by just giving them one.
As you spend a lot of time in the cantina, you may find yourself starting to get jealous of dancers doing their thing. You'll be safe in the knowledge that 'music is all' and better than dancing , but you may find that you enjoy the dancing and want to participate. I guess since you're going ME, you'll find out if you have a taste for it as you go along, and it wouldn't be too hard to pick up.
Same goes for ID, in terms of it being easy to pick up and test the waters, since you'll be going ME. IDing can be neat, it can be profitable (it's easy enough to at least pick up novice ID to do stat migrations), and it can be very much in demand. I have a few of my remaining skill points going up the hairstyle line in ID, and I occassionally just start a random ID session on one of my friends in the cantina group - more often than not, they'll say 'oh sure, it'd be fun to try something different '.
As much as I think it's a silly argument, I'll go ahead and throw in TKA, since the meditate line combined with your ability to heal BF will make you very self sufficient. *shrug*
Other than that, look at the professions and think of something that'll be fun . It'll always work out better if you pick something that'll be fun for you rather than what other people think would be a 'good idea/template'.

TKM or smuggler is often a nice mix with musician. As a smuggler the cantina should be your working place anyway, as long as you are not out smuggling something which isn't possible at the moment. And TKM can be very effective when some guy comes in and starts to boss entertainers around or harassing them.

I'm working on Pistoleer here and there with my Master Ent/Musician. Only doing since I used to be a smuggler and i still have all my weapons and stuff. Plus it works into my character's background.

I had a poor dancer get scanned overt in the city. While she was waiting for her status to revert to covert, she was performing with the rest of our band. I noticed an overt Imperial come in to the cantina and start watching her, healing up. I knew what he was gonna do, so I stopped playing, and armored up. He didn't notice, as all his attention was on her.

As soon as he was fully healed, he shot at her. All it took was the one shot to grant the group TEF, allowing me to dizzy/KD and educate this poor fellow that Entertainers stick together, and aren't always easy prey.

Sweet. Nice going.

I personally would say go Master Tailor if you think you'd enjoy it. "The clothes makes the man" as they say, or woman. Or, I wouldn't do this now, but Master Image Designer could also be good since there's so few of them. But I'd wait till the timers get fixed. Or as they say, you could do TKM which always is good since we entertainers get so little respect sometimes, it'd be helpful to work as a "bouncer" (like our friend in my quote). And if you're in the cantina, the whole cantina is practically in-range for a TK.

Just FYI, my current template on my alt is:

Master Entertainer
Master Musician
Dancer 4/0/0/0 (buff line)
Novice Image Designer (can migrate stats)
Artisan 0/0/0/4 (I run a resource business)

I've got like 50 SP's left but I'm not sure what to do with them.
