I hope not, since it IS a stock room.

If this is the case, I will be losing a LOT of armor that I release on a schedule to keep the vendor stocked.

We are merchants for a reason, because we can control our vendors, and are in a trade that should have a LOT of control of our merchandise and how it is handled.

I don't think it's as short as two days, but items left in the stockroom WILL disappear after time. It happens to me regularly. So if something comes off sale, and I don't want to bother relisting it, I just leave it for a week or so and POOF! it's gone.

:*(

This is not good at all. Why call it a **edit** stock room if it just disappears? call it a merchandise Que or something.

On my vendor it's ranged from about 2 days to 5 days. Might be issues with patches, server reboots, and such. Lost whole sets of clothing no big deal for me. Hate to lose a house deed though.

My suggestion is as soon as it goes in stockroom to remove it and either resell or put it in your inventory.

Also noticed this on bazaar. Sometimes items will stay up for days and days while other times I login a day latter and it's gone. (Purchased Items.)

In Tech Support forum, CSR-Chad responds to my question with:

Hello Ewach

Thank you for posting, items left in the stockroom for an extended period of time may disappear since stockrooms are not meant to be used for infinite storage of items.

I do appreciate receiving the response.

But am I the only one that would like something more definitive than "may disappear" and "extended period of time"?

How long is "extended"? What determines if they disappear?

How can I, or any of you, manage our inventory within the vendors if we do not know what the limitations are?

That there are left and right limits I will have to accept - however, at least tell me what they are.

I've cited a couple of definitions below. Perhaps if they [the developers] did NOT INTEND for them to be used as storage, they should have given them a different name?

I have a couple of suggested names, but they would make the title tab much wider than it is now:

"temporary place for items but do not store them here"
"place for customer's purchases to become stuck"
"location where you can inadvertenly lose your inventory"
"anything BUT a stockroom"
stock·room (also stock room) n

A room in which a store of goods or materials is kept.

Well, I went out of town for a four-day weekend and all the items that came off sale while I was gone had disappeared from the stockroom by the time I got back. Also, an auction item that I won off the bazaar disappeared before I could log in and retrieve it.

If this is a deliberate feature, then we need to be told exactly what the time limit is and how much time is left on each item before it's deleted without our authorization. And I think we should have more time before stuff starts disappearing. Some of us do occasionally take a couple of days off from game play, as amazing as it might be to imagine.

Didn't Holo say he'd rather we store stuff in the stockroom than the floor of our house? Well I'm about to log in and take everything out of my stockroom and set it down in my house because at least that way I don't know for sure it'll disappear in two days.

My vendors have been bugged from day one. One example is I bought 80K radioactive a friend put on my vendor as an offer. I could not retrieve it. because SOE has determaned that items will decay from a stockroom after a few days, I lost it. This is one of many, many events. All vendor bug related. Today, after patch, I went to withdraw an item so I could give it to a friend. After I withdrew the sale, I tried to retrieve only to get "you can not retrieve an invalid item" or something close. Over the past months, I have lost about 500K due to SOE's lazy butts not fixing bugs. They'd rather put up missions terminals for entertainers and artisans. Well they may have kept both entertainers happy by giving them a terminal they used 3 time because they are a joke to start with (terminals, not Entertainers) but they lost me as a happy customer. I'm quiting and I know of about 8 friends that are sick of it too and are quiting.

I'm paying for a service that is not being provided to me. They did the same thing in EQ and they took advantage of their customers there too. If your interested in reading about what legal actions I am taking against SOE for not providing me a promised service, read my other posts. I will post often to let people know whats up.

I know this will get the bashing these posts always get. "If you dont like the game than quit." Or "why ya making a big deal out of it?" I think I answered that above. Anybody that plays a lot of MMO remembers the UO issue. SOE needs the same thing to happen to them. Quit sitting there thinking the game will get better. It gets worse people, trust me.

Let the bashing begin...
