Thread: Shouldn't new sign types go under Advertising and not Management?

Signs are advertising after all. I know logic does not play a great role in this game, but what do the new sign types have to do with Management? And it's not like there is a huge imbalance in the skill trees in Merchant and so they put the new signs in management to balance things... Most of Merchant in broken, in fact management is the only skill line in merchant that is working as intended...

Good point! It makes sense... which is probably why it's under Management instead of Advertising...

They didn't want to pollute the Advertising tree with something that works as stated. They keep all working abilities in the Management tree.

Lets move all decent abilities to the advertise branch (most used by peeps not interested in being merchant)so peeps not interesetd in being merchants can have it all without being a merchant.

Hopefully it is a precursor for some additions/fixes to the advertising line. Either that or it was simply a snap decision on where to place it . . . Either way I'm happy we have something new (even if it is just another cosmetic toy).

JUST a cosmetic toy? oh no no no, my friend. Advertising is all about cosmetics. The way the package looks can attract or repel potential customers. I do everything possible to try to attract customers, from the naming of an item, to the way my shop is furnished, to the title of my house, to the words I use in bazaar descriptions, etc... every little thing helps attract a few more customers, here and there.

Perhaps I should have elaborated a bit more in my statement - my reference to vendor signs as a "cosmetic toys" was in relation to the other existing critical bugs that have been plaguing our class. I hardly find fancy signs to be all that important when we have an advertising tree that is largely broken, vendors that constantly eat items forboth the buyer and the seller, the issues with uniforms, etc.

Advertising is very important - but even the most magnificient shop combined with a brilliant advertising campaign will fail if the customer cannot get the items they want due to game bugs . . .

But, as I said earlier I'll take what I can get

Sign 1 seems to be the best anyway, so ya don't have to go very high up that line. =)

Too bad it floats in front of my house.... I'm sticking with the old sign for now at least.

They placed it there most likely because that was the least used discipline in the merchant line. They thought they would make it more rewarding.
