Thread: The one thing that suprised me about merchant...
.. is that you guys have no control over your exp. Your customers and your advertising are the only ways you can get exp. Now i know that getting exp via selling items is very vulnerable to exploit, but I am really good at selling stuff, and knowing how supply and demand works.
Even if it was a really small increment of exp such as 10 or even 5 pts for selling something on the bazaar it would be alot more of a control factor to merchants and you would get exp based on when you sell something. I have made alot of money selling stuff on the bazaar, and not with complicated weapons or armor, just with stuff that a Novice Artisan can make, I sell Generic Crafting Tools for 1k each (which is a HUGE margin of profit).
It just befuddles me that you guys have no way to make exp without people looking at your vendor, visiting, your house or hourly rates... Just seems odd to me, oh well so far I like what you guys can do, and looking at some of the skills it looks pretty cool.... (BTW I am a Hologrinder)
That's like saying getting 0-4-4-4 in BH isn't so hard, since all you have to do his kill stuff.

You do have control. Brining people into your shop to view your merchandise generates xp. The more people come the more xp it generates. You get 150xp per hour per vendor.. You can generate another 300 xp per hour in "vendor access" xp.
Why would me make xp for selling something on the bazaar which requires no merchant sklils at all?
I have 4 vendors right now...and it's pretty obvious that the XP is slow....But I have been seeing it. Would be nice if we got either a little faster or more XP generation...But Merchant is my secondary profession on my second character...
I just popped my vendors up loaded them up with some stuff that may or may not sell....Old weapons of mine, minor stuff that I crafted...and vehicles at, I think, are a very reasonable price....Some wookiee gear...and medical stuff from my main character.
I will be using my second character mainly to sell the weapons he will be making and loaning out a vendor to my main character's upcoming profession...BE.
Will be loading crates of Stims (Pet and people) pets and tissues...Eventually when I get Plantetary Advertising...I imagine the XP (maybe money too...eventually...may take a while, and I know that) will be rolling in. I am testing the waters right now to see what niche I can fill.
I will probably end up mastering Merchant...Most people advertising in the professions I am going into are avoiding certain products...Probably with good reason...But I know personally...It would be SO much easier if there were some crafters out there that did certain things to help out others.
I may end up becoming a component dealer.....
