Thread: Need some way to guage demand...
Unfortunately there's no real way of making charts that spew out what people actually want. The closest they could get (which I saw as a suggestion in another thread) is something that allows us to see a graph of how much of a certain item their is compared to another, average/high/low prices of items, etc. At least that way we might be able to get a better feel of what things are going for, especially considering how big and flooded the market is becoming.
At the moment you can really only guess what people want, ask around, and talk to people about what they'd like, and as suggested above just put up a price and see how fast/slow the item sells.
Any other suggestions?
This way you could build the items people want to by and price them at a reasonable price.
don't we have this same problem IRL? I think people get paid lots of money to predict demand. They use databases of last year's sales, etc. to make a guestimate I think.
When I start up the merchant tree I'm going to be using Microsoft Access quite a bit I think.
Actually, i think figuring out supply and demand is part of the fun of the game ... keeping tabs of what sells, tweaking prices, visiting other vendors that sell similar items, chatting with customers. Maybe its just me, but I get a kick out of it!
Now, if only i could balance my checkbook in real life ....
