Thread: whats your opinion?
Im a master artisan and a master architect and im debating taking up some or most of merchant......
My only other option is just to get more pistoleer or medic or something of the like. Ive heard that merhcant can be alot of work and having the jobs i already do im wondering if its really worth it. I already have a vendor in my house and in my player cities bazaar. Im 1 of 2 architects in my guild so im kept very busy with just them let alone non-guildies. I have to say though i really like the idea of these new merchant tents.I would greatly appreciate the opinion of a merchant on wether or not you'd take on merchant under these circumstances.
What exactly are the pros and cons of being a merhcant?

Vendors, Tents, Planetary Advertising, Ad Barking.
Those are the cons. =)
You mean the pros.
Merchant in and of itself is actually really easy, depending on how successful you want to be. Basically all you technically have to do is keep paying your vendors and your structures and they'll keep doing all they are supposed to. However, running a business can be difficult. Keeping your vendors stocked, and making sure your advertising message, and products are reaching the public and are filling a marketing purpose (why open a shop selling crafting and surveying tools? for instance) are difficult. It takes a little creativity, a lot of money, and a lot of persevearance.
However, if you're good at it, you make lots of money.
