Thread: Merchants punished for customer stupidity?
The second item has to do with Vendors. Currently, there is no limit to how many items can be placed on a vendor. This causes technical issues, encourages monopolies and actually hurts sales in many instances because most players don't "drill down" through all of the vendor pages to find items. We want to solve the technical issues, discourage monopolies and make vendors easier to use. An item limit is going to be placed on vendors and that limit is intended to be placed on 150
So one of thair reasons for wanting to limit the number of items on a vendor is that some players can not brother to learn how to use the next page function.... yet they wand to increase the use of the bazaar where there are thousands of items for sale in every single category!
A bad excuses or lack of thinking?

I wend to read all the offichal post on this vendor cap issue, to get a fealing for how long it would take before it was implemented, but one thing stug out. One thing that I find very ironic. I maerked it out in bold in the following quote from TH's post:

Since the current page limit is around 100 and the limit proposed was 150 I fail to see how they are going to have any effect on the inability of people to see and use the next button, unless they are going to make the pages 150.
At the same time they are going to increase the number of items allowed to be sold on the bazaar which will require people to learn to use the next button on the bazaar or cause confusion there....
I don't have a lot of faith that those reasons are anything more than rationalization. Database, Database, Database. That is the root of the urgency to change this.
I do not know what is the worst.
I had no idea. This is the firsttime I have ever came in this forum andthe first I have heard of any vendor changes or problems.
I use my vendor to make money. The storage is just a real nice bonus.
My Houses are full, bank is full, 3 factories ingrediant hoppers are full, the vendor takes juggling but nonetheless, it helps.
So I guess that means the stock room will be affected ![]()
I hate being causes of problems. Sorry ![]()
One person with a few hundred items stored isn't that big a deal really. But the problem is that a lot of people are doing it.
And of course the biggest problem is the game's database. The database design is the real issue in so many of these game problems. If the database was better, we'd have a decent amount of ordinary storage and no one would be forced into trying to find workarounds!
Is this going to affect the stock room? I keep less than 150 items for sell but I keep hundreds in the stock room for storage!

I hope this doesn't sound mean, but it's you folks who are using vendors as unlimited storage that are a large part of the problem. They are not meant to be used that way.
I know the house item limits are ridiculously low. But thanks in part to all you folks using storage vendors, this nerf is being forced on all of us who use our vendors as legitimate sales tools.
If you care about having a good selection of things to buy in the shops you visit, please, please stop doing this.

I have 30 items in storage on my vendors. 30 items total. While in another thread some guy had 5 vendors, each with 2000+ items.... and this nerf is the result of storage vendors like mine. Yeah right.
