Thread: The Sound of Nerfing
I was inspired to compose the following parody, based on a vision I had of empty vendors and disillusioned merchants, should the item cap go forward on vendors... Apologies to Simon & Garfunkel.
---
Hello merchant, my old friend,
I've come to buy from you again,
Because an item I was needing,
Showed its absence while I was questing,
And the absence of the item that was my doom
Still absent
Within the sound of nerfing.
On hopeless hills I ran alone
Endless lands of tree and stone
'Neath the glow of a vendor's tent,
I was lured in by the Fishak's scent
When my screen was stabbed by the dark and empty sight
That split the night
And touched the sound of nerfing.
And the herders bowed and prayed
To the electronic god they paid
"Doodz" said I, "You do not know
Nerfing like a cancer grows.
And across the empty Empire I saw
Ten thousand marksmen, maybe more.
People shopping without buying,
People browsing without paying,
And the shop blasted forth its warning,
In the words that it was forming,
"The words of the players
are written on the forum boards
And in-game words."
And whisper'd in the sounds of nerfing.

I'd crosspost that to the correspondant forum but I'd get yelled at ![]()
