ok, while not claiming to be the best pvper in the galaxy i am a PVPer nonetheless. I Spend most of my time in the game grinding templates to try to compete with the imperial ownage on bria. Its bad enough that the best players tend to be imps, and that a lot of these hardcore players have alts, and money, and the best and most expensive weapons.
I dont have a lot of time to do hundreds of janta missions so i can buy a scythe which costs 1.2 million just so i can compete. I am allways either grinding a new variant of my template, or PVPing.
Now, the merchant nerf will hit me very hard. I rely on my one small vendor to sell what little loot i gather. There isnt a lot on there most of the time, mostly my old weapons or armour. I Would sell krayt weapons and aklay batons for between 20 to 40k to get me a little money and to help out other's taking up new proffesions, sliced pvp armour for a quarter of the price i bought it for. Now this is not bussiness, it is convinience for the type of player who plays the game in such a way that he simply does not have time to stand in coronet screaming 'krayt scatter for sale PST'.
When i change proffessions i will make around 2 million over a few weeks selling off my old stuff on my vendor for virtually nothing. After the nerf i would be more inclined to sell my weapons for what i bought them for, this is a kind of trend that i believe will be repeated by crafters and other loot sellers, that being higher prices.
Whatever, this screws me over. I want to be able to make a little money on the side so i can afford 'AVERAGE' weapons. Well now i wont have a lot of money, and no real way of making it. I wont be spending money on new weapons anymore. Im just one person, but remember there are a lot of people with casual vendors, or 'exploiters' as some ppl call us, some of us wont be spending money in your malls anymore, all the merchants that think this nerf is a good thing are wrong, it will effect everyone, even if they dont know it yet.
Now this is the wrong forum for raising my next point, but many have raised it anyway. The macro nerf...
How does this effect a pvper?
well personally i dont afk grind combat professions, but i preffer not to have to hit spin attack every second for 5 minutes. If i have to do that to grind fencer for example, i will leave the game.. simple
Combat in PVP is hard enough as it is, if anyone has PVPed before they know how quickly you need to react to various types of players, a macro which spams head hit for example leaves you free to chase an enemy without having to spam a move manually. If the tides turn, you can easily dump and clear and try a new tactic.
I play this game for PVP, i dont care about the poor merchants who will now only make 10 million a week instead of 50. I have NO money in my bank, ever, unless i need to buy something, in which case i fill my vendor.
I am just trying to illustrate the point that this nerf will hit many different types of players, weve heard the merchant's point of veiw many times allready, i am just bringing my 2 cents in.
All that said, i know what has been proposed will be especially bad for merchants. I think EVERYTHING about this nerf is just wrong.
