Thread: My take on the Merchant Nerf Please Read Devs!

Just thought I would add my support to stop this ludicrous Merchant slaughter. This goes beyond Nerf...thus the word slaughter.


I say slaughter because this will account for a lot of people quitting the game...more so than any other change I am willing to bet. People are already bored and frustrated with SWG, and this is just enough to put it over the top for a lot of people.


That being said, I can agree with a few things.


1. There should be some limit to the number of items a vendor can hold. 110 at Master Merchant level? No way does that make sense. I think perhaps the number should be more around the 1000 number. I am no where NEAR the best Meds crafter on my server, but I easily have 500 items on my vendor at any given time. I have all six vendors allocated...each with over 300 items easily for sale in various planets. I do NOT use any for storage. I have seen Doctors on our server with over a thousand items for sale on one vendor...there is no way these guys would continue if this nerf went into place.


2. I do agree people should lose vendors when they drop Merchant. If you want vendors, you must have the skills to keep it. No other class allows you to keep skills if you drop that class.


3. I do agree with vendors being deleted that have no items for sale for a length of time. Vendors should also be deleted when people drop the skills necessary to keep them.

I'm a Master WS and run a Master DOC vendor as well, im 0-0-0-3 Merchant. I run 3 vendors, none for storage. It looks like I'll be limited to 90 items per vendor...thats crazy. My Doc vendor has around 1k items on it atm. Should I only sell by the crate? How does this sit with new players? Do the Dev's realise this new change will push the gap between new and elite players further apart?


Me as a Master WS, I'm forced to stock the higher end weapons now, sorry newbie's you're stuck with your CDEF until you can afford that T21. I dont think the Dev's have thought this through all the way yet. I know that the DB storage level is getting to FULL, but come on, didnt you expect this to happen by now ? Wake up...
