Thread: Retaining a droid barker while in space

I'm so glad that SOE has allowed droid barkers to remain called out instead of auto-storing when traveling between server boundries on the ground. It has been a long time coming, and desparately needed to give validity to purchasing these droids.

This has not been the case when flying. My droid still continues to autostore when i hit the edge of the atmosphere. Since I spend 90% of my time out there, its kinda annoying.

Doc: Do you know if the devs are planning on fixing this bug?

not sure if it was a fluke or if it's been changed, but I was up as a guest on somebodies yacht and my barker did not store.

It's not a bug; it's a new feature.

Look at the notes for the last publish or two - it's in there.

Pets now specificly auto-store when you launch into space in your own ship (or another player ship). This is to prevent exactly what you want to do- dumping a spam droid and then flying off into space.

Is it right? I think it's pretty silly, but it is the way the game is now and it is very intentional. They don't store when you take public transportation, however.

Sorry about that, Crusty. I looked through the recent postings to see if someone already posted on this. I see that you did now.

OK. This makes absolutely no sense. What is the difference if a player that is stuck on the ground without JTL dropping off their barker then heading 5 planets away to go out adventuring or harvesting while not directly monitoring thier barker, while people with JTL get shafted watching thier barker autostore while trying to enjoy the spoils of having the expansion in the first place? If anything, for helping to line the pockets of SOE, SOE should make sure TO allow barkers to remain deployed while merchants are out in space.

Tell me there are others in the Merchant nation that agree with this.

Personally i dont care for barkers because they do add too much spam to the game . I would prefer being able to use signage such as the signs we have near our house . Much like a billboard that we can place a complete description inside and a short title . Less spam and the players can decide what they wish to view .
