says it all really, situation: want a chest plate:
go to bazaar and search through new vendor listings from latest patch
find Armor-Body armor-
then scroll though 30 pages of randomly sorted chestplates, no decent descriptions of each item.
give up and search to old way
not far off?? all we need is a search option, was it so hard to create or come up with in developing? did the developers not think that providing EVERY vendor access would not have a huge number of items shown on the bazaar? (why is a merchant-esk skill not learned from the merchant tree?? i don't even begin to understand) all we need is a list that sorts for every item in the category, not just on that selection of 100 items out of 3000. more options to sort would be nice, not just price, location and entry fee.
it would also help if the location/ waypoint would match up with the map so we have some idea of which starport to fly into.
i want a chest plate with 20% stun resists, base of over 60% and max price of 60k..... how hard is it to write a search engine???? this is sony, lucas arts isn't it. where is the inginutiy and creativity. or are you just all wasters and bums out there in SWG headquaters, please think before you act a little more often, especially with the new Combat Upgrade coming. if that has as much forsight as this latest patch then we are all in alot of trouble
this was written a while ago now and still no-one took any notice:

Can you not sort by name? At least that would group all the identical items together so that you could scroll past them all.
In some ways I'm glad it's not overly user friendly, means that barker droids and map registration is still useful
It also puts emphasis on naming items inteligently, so that it is easier for somebody to pick out your item as what they want from the bazaar listings. Failing that you could get in contact with an AS and see if they have what you are looking for on their vendor or ask them to make you it specially.

Ya there are a couple of things they really screwed with that part of the publish.
1st, they need more categories and sub-categories. I think they'll be coming eventually though.
2nd, they completely obliterated the merchant profession. Now every noob artisan has more advertising ability than a master merchant ever did. Merchant is a mostly colossal waste of sp now (it's been nerfed so many times you could argue that it was a waste several months ago after the previous nerfs). Now every noob with a storage vendor can have all their 99999999 credit storage crap listed on the bazaar so everyone can waste their time looking at it. Yay.
When they originally introduced the idea, the community responded that it was a good thought (galaxy-wide vendor listings in the bazaar), but very poorly planned. They shelved it for a month to work on it, then re-introduced it exactly as it had been. They ignored 100% of the feedback (surprise surprise) and squeezed out this turd. It would have been pretty easy to introduce this good idea in a way that enhanced both the merchant profession, the buyer's experience, and the game and economy in general. I think they'll change some of it though. It may just be my unquenchable optimism coming through there though...

I think it's user unfriendly in the wrong way. I'm not too pleased about prices being displayed as they are (you should at least have to check for details, in my opinion), but the inability to even search for a specific type of item is horrible! Never mind stun Composite with certain stats, what if you wanted Ubese? What if you were looking for stim-Cs? What if you're looking for a crate of ANYTHING!? Of course, there's also the issue of looking for an item and not seeing crates of that type as well...

You forgot to mention the normal Bazaar cap of 6k was raised to 20k with this 'publish'

I didn't know that. I'll be sure to put some things on the Theed and Coronet bazaar today.
As far as the GWVS (Galaxy Wide Vendor Search) goes, I think it is HILARIOUS. All of the combat types who were claiming that this would make the game so easy have just been shown that it hasn't.

This was one of the main points brought up when this dumb change was being thrown around. Everyone who knew anything knew that people would be force fed thousands of items to look through when they went to the bazaar looking for a new weapon for example.
This quickly frustrates the customer, who in turn just finds the first weapon on the list with the stats they want and purchase and go on their way.
Great job devs you have succeeded in taking all of the professionalism out of being a merchant and reduced it to who can put the most leading A's in front of the product name to compete for business. AAAAAAAA-uberT21.
I truly hope these bumbleheads look at what they have done and take a longer look and actually listen to the feedback next time they are thinking about radically changing such a vital and fundamental part of the game environment. This could have been a really nice tool if the thought had been put into doing it right, but the way it was layed out there were obvious problems with it (even the search only option they went with). All you have done is create one more thing for players togripe about, congratulations. This will hurt real merchants that have played the game for a long time under one game mechanic only to be told that we are changing it on a whim and don't really care because the combat types arecrying too much. It also does not benifit them as much as they or you thought it would. You have opened a floodgate of complaints for a function that will be minimally helpful to a few people at best.

Within 20 minutes of adding my vendors to the galaxy search i made 200k. Also i was able the to search for CA/AA and find couple realy good deals and find some harvestors. Now i suspect using galaxy search insted of panet search would have been a pain but one thing i know for sure i wount have to go from planet to planet, going from one prety dressed vendor to another just to find empty vendors or the 999999999 items.

Mixed feelings. On one hand, it was time. On the other hand, now a non-merchant can have up to a half-million creds worth of stuff up for sale. Has anyone checked to see if the limit of 25 offers has been raised?

Luckily, thank goodness, the default for existing vendors is Off, but future vendors wll be on. Which means that people that either don't know how to toggle it or don't care to bother will be tossing all their storage stuff up on there.

When i searched and easily found my weapons on the Vendor Listings (i won't call it a Vendor Search because its too far from an actual usefull search tool) I was happy that I've always used anaming convention that lists the weapons stats.
I'm concerned that the CU changes will force me to change my naming convention since the stats will be different after the nerf.
