Thread: Ablity to allow your costumers to place items for sell on your vendor
If I had to stock the vendor it would also be worth buying all the guys stuff and then selling ti for a profit.
look for the merchant friend utility. It helps with this immensely. People tag their items with a label, then it sorts out what sold of each label and allows you to determine a rate of payment based on flat amount or percentage.
Personally, I don't want people to have admin on my vendor, especially if I'm selling several people's worth of stuff. As merchant, there is still some work on your part.

I just started using the Merchant's Friend and it's great, but I can not for the life of me figure out how to do the partners thing. The Help thing doesn't help much.

Here is a some help on how to use the partner utility in Merchants friend:
First, decide on some rule that you want to use:
Should your partner get a certain amount per item sold, or should your partner get a certain percentage of the total sale.
Lets say you are three partners, and you want an equal share: You select the / operator, and put in 3 as the number.
If you would like someone to get 80% of the listed price of an item, you can enter Multiply by (*) and enter 0.8
Next you enter the partners first name
Then you enter in some search word to filter the sales by..if this particular partner is just going to get a share of your radioactive sales, you can list "Radioactive" as the key word, if you are going to share all items, you just enter "All"
Last you need to enter in something in the vendor field: either you can enter "All" to get all vendors included, or you can enter a vendor name.
If you have done this, some numbers should appear: if you have not done any filtering on the Sales Screen, you will get what you owe your partners in total (from the start of you recording vendor data until today).
You will need to limit the data to get some meaningful numbers out of it. As the filtering system is not fully developed yet, there are a few things you can't do yet. It is for example not possible to specify a start date, and end date, and get the amount of money you owe your partners for that part. However, you can do partial search on the date field in the my sales screen:
For example, if you select Date, and enter 2004-04, you will filter your sales data to only include april, if you want the 10 first days of april, you can search for 2004-04-0, if you want the next 10 days of april you can filter for 2004-04-1, and the next 10, 2004-04-2(and the last one or two days of a month:2004-04-3). This is a work-around though. I expect the filtering system to improve in later versions, if the developer keeps up the good work so far.
Hope you get it to work...

Thanks so much! I printed your advise and will fiddle with it later.
