But will they put it in players hand so we can make casino's, or just have a one in a cantina.

What is this I have heard about the Hutt casino? Is this something that is planned? Are there anydetails on it?
I'd love to see card games and gambling machines (the current ones have a terible interface). And once something goes in to an NPC city, hopefully they will allow it into player citys too.
The smugglers fourm at Fan Fest had the suggestions that smugglers be able to place gambling machines in Player cantina's.

I don't know but we made it known at FF that we wanted player casinos. They seemed open to the idea.
The card game was mentioned but I'm not clear on if that is related to Hutt Casino or not.

Since I have don't really like real casinos, I don't really care all that much about this.
Although I did like Pazaak quite a bit, and got pretty good at it! It would be nice if we could get greater customization for things like this.

Some people really like gambling, so I think it would be neat if we had more options for players to run machines. If done right, we'd have more interaction than we do with the current ones. The current ones, in my opinion, aren't a big deal. If it was more into the players hands, it'd be better.

They could require maintains like vendors, and take any winning from the maintains pool while also depositing the credits spend on it there.
A few setting the machines could be things like:
The price of one game.
The average profit margin on games.
The balance between the size and frequency of the winnings. (as in people really wind but when the do the win big time, or people win more often but the prices are a lot smaller)
It would be nice to have other things then vendors to make credit on.

I know they are planning on rolling out a new more graphical gambling game soon based on a card game from KOTR.

Typical... we play a version of Pazzak that was originally posted on the RP forum using 4 cards per pack and a 12 sided dice. Pop these into a pack and that is your card deck.
ee here for further details (we have enhanced rules since this post was made).
Of course if they implemented it in game properly that would save us some storage!

Of course one of the best kinds of gambling is well supported now.
Buy resources (or whatever) and try to sell them for more than you paid. It is called "speculation" and moreRL fortunes have been won and lost on that game than any other.
Like poker or backgammon skill makes a lot of difference, but dumb luck can make more.
Very appropriate to Merchants as well.
